I do think that people need to be "strong." How many people, when life is going up in flames, put on "their gamefaces" and hide what really is happening. For me, this is rampant, and for many women I suspect as well.

We cant all be at the same level at the same time. Sometimes I stumble and fall and someone picks me. Sometimes I'm the onethat's strong. A big part of having less stress is to get out of the mindset that you always have to be the strong one.

My stress is directly related to my lack of faith...period. When I don't trust God, i have to trust me, or others, or circumstances. And that's just not enough

I have friends come and go. Some I am sad to leave behind. Some just drift away. Some stick with me all my life and those I really treasure. I have different circles -- work, church, neighborhood -- and each of those circles has different friends. Same values, but different goals. I am grateful for them all.

Boy, good think I'm not a legalist! I'm not athletic, but work at staying in shape. I dont read music, but have often wondered what that part of my brain would be like. I think what yo uare saying is to expand our brains -- and then see what God can do!

For me, building trust is telling the truth even when it's painful, embarassing, or personally damaging. To be honest when I'm the most vulnerable means so much to the other party

i actually was in a backed up traffic situation and I took a bunny trail off the freeway to a frontage road to go back to the previous town. i got nailed by a highway patrol. Cost me $80 and a couple of points and probably increased insurance (because of a speeding ticket last year.) I just can't wait -- and now it's cost me.

But I am waiting on some relationships, some people who have run and haven't yet returned. I'm sticking in the traffic, waiting for them.

I've never really considered welcoming distractions -- but you are right. They are necessary.
I sometimes get a little too focused where I forget about the world around me. I'm driving, looking at the peaks ahead and almost drive off the road because I missed the curves to get there.
I have a baseball game that I'll play when I'm in the middle of a project -- something completely mindless--- but it gives me necessary respite.

We have far too many people who's heads are filled with knowledge -- and no practical outworking. And that goes for those in the church too. Great post.
