I agree with you on this. I base my ratings on the meaning they have on goodreads, and books can be amazing for very different reasons. They can also be ok for different reasons and get two stars.
I stopped putting star ratings in my reviews, because I think that they don't really tell you anything. People have different taste after all. ;)

I'm so glad you enjoyed Beautiful Redemption. Beautiful disaster rated high for me last year and I can't wait to read more from this same world. :D I want to get to know the other Maddox brothers!

I'm so glad you liked Code Name Verity. :D I'm so excited to read it, but I have yet to hear awesome things about it. So, now I am even more excited. :)

I did not know Looking for Alaska was written from a male point of view. Now I am looking forward to reading it even more! :)

Also, I do agree with you. There are way too little YA books told from male perspective and I miss it. I don't understand why this happens... I understand why a female author would also have a female protagonist, but I don't understand why there are more female YA authors...

Aww, it sucks when a book is that bad... I hope you will like your next read better :)

Also, I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger award! :D check it out here!

I just received If You Find Me in the mail this month and am really excited to read it! :D Especially since it's one of your favorites. I don't have too high hopes for it, since I have not really seen that many great reviews.

I love musicals, so it's embarrasing really that I haven't watched this one yet... It's a shame you didn't like it that much, but from your review I can't come to any other conclusion than that I will probably love it :D Haha.
Great post! It's nice to see something else than book, and especially when it's my second passion!

The way you wrote your review... very clever trick! I loved it! :D
Didn't care too much for the book though. I also only kept reading because I wanted to know what the big reveal was going to be. Oh well. Let's hope our next reads are better :)

I think the titles of the different books in this series spoils what is going to happen anyway. It doesn't bother me much though, because I agree with you that these books are just fun weekend reads :) I really love the Bachelor aspect of it, that is hilarious. :)

Great review on your part. I can't wait to read the next book(s).

This sounds like just my kind of read :D and since I just finished Love Letters to the Dead, it seems perfect to get into it at this time :3
Great review on your part.

I enjoyed this book. My big problem wasn't the insta love (I mean, it pretty much says in the title that it will be love at first sight). It was rather the fact that I didn't think it lived up to the title in a way. Maybe I'm just too into maths and facts, but I would have liked there to be more statistics. That sounds really lame, but I really wanted to know the statistical probabilities.
