I didn't know you were in Seoul, how exciting! Roomies was my first Christina Lauren book and made me an addict for the rest of their rom-coms!

I love TBR carts! They just make the prospect of picking up a book from your TBR so fun (and I've found mine really has helped in making me read the books off of my TBR!) No shame about Twilight, I still love that series to this day (especially the earlier books) and will be do for a reread in the next few years as well!

I'm glad to see such an honest review (because I do think this one's been a bit hyped!) but I'm a little bummed too- just checked this one out from the library because I'm trying to read more fantasy this year. Hopefully it's at least a 3 star read for me as well!

I got my first e-reader for Christmas last year (a Kindle) and I've been LOVING e-books. I read so much faster on them and I can check out e-books from the library without the stress of worrying about returning physical copies. It's also diversified my reading in that I will try new things that are more easily accessible, since I only tend to buy books that I'm SURE I am going to like. The downside, however, is that I've found e-books are usually just as expensive (with the exception of any sales) as many physical books that I can buy online. So I don't own that many e-books, mainly just those that are my absolute FAVORITES that I have as a physical copy as well!

I still do my best to review as many of the books that I read as possible, but it does get draining, especially when all of the books I read to tend to blend together after a while. I find that I tend to ramble on about certain elements in my review but feel like I never cover as much actual ground about the book itself as other bloggers do. All in all it can be exhasuting to review, but I carry on since I do love having a record of what I've read and find my reviews helpful when jogging my memory when picking up a sequel or companion novel.

This is a super interesting post! I'm actually reading a book that uses a lot of phrases from another language right now to contribute to the story/setting "The Wrath and the Dawn" and as someone who only speaks English and Spanish, I of course have no idea how accurate the translations are. I've found when I do read books that integrate Spanish into the mostly English narrative, I usually don't notice too many flaws, but then again, I feel like Spanish is a pretty commonly spoken language in the US and therefore may be less prone to translation issues from a American publisher. Great, thoughtful post!

I was super disappointed with this book too, especially since I really liked the Heir! I was hoping her and Kile would get together (I liked how their relationship was developed and they came to be close despite initially disliking each other).

Sorry to hear you didn't like this one more! I agree that it included some pretty heavy themes for being such a short book, but I did think that there was a beauty in the simplicity of Yoon's writing. Do you think you'll try her next book?

I've debated buying this book for a LONG time now because I keep seeing mixed reviews! That's frustrating that there is so little dialogue in this book, especially since I feel that fantasy series often need dialogue to break up the heavy explaining of world building that's necessary to the genre. I think I'll put this one on the back burner for now!

I changed my blog name and focus about 2 years ago to, from a random blog with sort of just ramblings about my life (and also named after me) to a full on book blog, and I've never looked back! If you can 100% commit to a new name, I say go for it, especially before you make any other major changes to your blog (such as moving to self hosted) so you can start building your new brand. Good luck!
