Does this mean we'll start seeing more warmahordes content? That would be just glorious! Are you going to post BatReps of the WM event you attended Kirby?

Keep in mind that hunter on the hex hunters does not allow them to ignore cover/conceal when using their magic attacks as hunter specifies LoS and ranged attack only. You may already know this but many hex hunter players I've seen have not realized it.

Fantastic! Always great to see more warmachine content! Thank you Thank you Thank you for having a written battle report and not just a video!

Couple of things that I noticed from reading the report:
1) Giving a charge order does not limit you from running. The charge order allows models to make a charge OR a run. So that 1 TFG model could have charged while the rest ran. Not big in this match but a really important rule otherwise.

2) pKreoss definitely doesn't want to upkeep/cast Lamentation; At least not early game. What Lamentation does essentially is force your opponent to play his caster further back. With a caster like pKreoss who has an excellent assassination in pop and drop, you are hoping their caster comes forward. Alternatively, you opponent may be aware of drop and pop and will keep his caster back anyways without costing you the focus of Lamentation. In which case you destroy the army. Lamentation is great end game when your opponents cast MUST commit their caster to the game. At that point you can effectively limit their magic potential by half. Earlier I would concentrate on purifcation, DW, and camping.

3) Are you guys playing the old Steamroller rules? I'm pretty sure all the scenarios are to 5 points now. PP puts out a new packet every year to keep things fresh and balanced.

I played 40k for years (and enjoyed quite a number of em) but it slowly became such a toxic game that I don't enjoy playing/painting/assembling the system anymore... I enjoyed my time with 40k but I am supremely happy a game like warmachine/hordes exists as I find it much more fulfilling and rewarding. So thank you for putting more warmahordes content on the internet!

"And final game was the most anti-climatic of all against Chris who gave me perhaps the best game I've had with Tau in 6th edition back in Round 3. It was Hammer & Anvil and I had three objectives, he had two. He took a chance clumped up and prepped to run at me. I seized, we shook hands and put our feet up and enjoyed a nice chat instead."

How is this OK in a game system? Seriously? I was considering jumping back into 40k but its thing's like this that really turn me off, and I'm a pretty competitive player. This kinda crap just doesn't happen in other game systems that I play. There's no tactics in this. Don't give me the deployment spiel, the game should be designed properly such that this doesn't happen.

Honestly, a good start would be to fix gun ranges. 24" should be THE MAXIMUM for any gun. At least force some movement instead of shoot shoot shoot grab objectives. OR I won because I rolled a 6.

I've been running MoN Lord, 39 plague marines, and 15 MoN havocs allied with Epidemus and 5 plaguebearers + Aegis/Quad. Once you get to 15 kills, the army becomes neigh unkillable. 20 kills and you can just laugh. You decent in combat vs everything, bolters become brutal and your very attritiony. I played a venom spam list last night and although I lost the most PM/Havocs thus far (had 16 PMs left by the end plus epi and his unit) I came out victorious. You can probably imagine what happens when you play armies that don't ignore your T5.

Looks like a fun game! One thing I noticed was you casted purification and then upkept defenders ward next turn... Purification would have stripped that too!

I love all the warmachine stuff being posted lately. I play menoth myself, perhaps I can offer a couple of suggestions? I would see the TFG replaced by a full unit of errants. 14/18 is really nasty to deal with, why not make them deal with 12 of em? How have you been liking the vanquisher? @50 I always have one with pSev but @35 I'm leaning towards 2 reckoners, really keeps the enemy caster honest... As well a charge range of 11" vs the vanquishers 7.5". I feel like between a full unit of errants and arcing A2A, you don't really need the vanquisher plate @35.

Thoughts?

A couple of suggestions/things to keep in the back of your head:
2 sets of stones with one having a UA, always. The placement tricks, fury management, healing, lane blocking, shooting your own stones with aoes, etc etc... They are 5 points in every list.
A stalker for an additional point makes the feral pretty moot. Reach is the kicker though, I can't say I've seen a feral at anything local or any major events in a loooong time.
Kromac. Seriously. Kromac. I'd put him at a top 5 caster in hordes. His feat is sorta meh but his spell list and assassination vector are amazing. Especially now with Ghetorix.
