Is your concern with Syria strategic, humanitarian, or both? And let me pose the abstract question, do both goals need to be on the line to justify action?

So far they haven't even reached enrichment capacities they're allowed under the non-proliferation treaty to which they are a party.

As a secondary consideration, consider that North Korea has nukes, and China has its back. Yet South Korea still stands.

Mind you, JG, these are thorny issues, and I make no bones about that. I'm not naive, but I think all of these issues merit serious discussion, especially when so many lives are on the line - - unfortunately, literally.

The problem is in your first statement. Iran doesn't even have 5% uranium enrichment yet for producing nuclear energy. They're nowhere close to a nuclear-grade uranium or a system for launching it.

Market-driven interest rates are vital to a stable economy. Helicopter Ben isn't doing us any favors, that's for sure. Thank you George W. Bush, for giving us this guy.

Hot-head and cry-baby? I've had plenty of criticism of Obama Lite (who will nominate someone to the Fed as Bernanke-like as possible), but I've never resorted to calling you or anyone else names for making what I predict (yes, predict), will be a colossal disaster if the guy from Massachusetts wins. I'm rather surprised you resorted to that sort of tone.

I agree with you on the Obama trend, but still think it began 8 years earlier, particularly on the regulatory, monetary, and fiscal sides.

Too bad he didn't contest Michigan. I don't know how he can give up on the winner-take-all primaries and think he will have a shot.

Ron Paul has never said that "Iran means well," but that's a subject for another day.

I agree with his plan to expand work visas for skilled workers, but his "build the fence" plan that is so popular with confused conservatives is obnoxious. Romney fails to understand that the illegal immigration problem is an economic issue more than a border security issue. It is a black market in labor, and a true believer in free market economics would recognize the root problem, and take steps to alleviate the market failure by pursuing more readily available work visas for unskilled workers. I'm no fan of George W Bush, but even he landed on the right side of this issue.

Romney also fails to grasp that the border problem is 2 separate problems, not just one. One is the black market for labor, and the other is the black market for drugs. Lacking a core understanding of the nature of the problem(s), Romneys immigration policies are destinmed to fail.

Of course we are more friend than foe! As far as "wishful thinking" goes, if I don't believe in my candidate, no one will. It's a long time between now and election day. Anything can happen.

James: although the comment section has focused on homeopathic dentistry, your larger point is well taken. The Institute for Justice's Economic Liberty practice is fighting unjust and unnecessary licensing practices from casket makers to hair braiders. Licensing restrictions are cartelism, period. Your article is just one case study.
