You may have added too much flour? A lot of people don’t measure flour correctly (you want to scoop it into the measuring cup and then level it out. If you google how to correctly measure flour it will show you!) it’s also possible your oven was too hot (every oven is a little different) or a number of different factors could have contributed.

It is possible you’re not measuring your dry ingredients (flour and the sugars although especially the flour) correctly-have you heard of the scoop and level method? Google it and it will show you what I mean—that helps with ensuring you have the correct texture.

What—your mom is crazy lol! And yeah babies usually lose weight because they don’t have a direct line anymore lol-and especially if they’re breastfed because it takes a few days for the milk to come in.
