I am standing clapping at my desk.... Yesterdays post, and comments have really brought to focus again (stuff I have dealt with already) the issues that led to some of the problems my marriage has had... As a man looking back knowing, I was that guy in many ways, that for all intensive purposes was not worried about the hurt I caused the girls I was involved with... I can see how that came forward to my marriage...What if my mom or dad had just been honest... It doesn't take much of a stretch to understand. The current state of your sexual relationship with your spouse, will dictate how or if you talk to your kids about sex... Now I wonder how healthy my Mom and Dad's sex life was... 8-) God knows I never got the "Talk"... Thank you for being brave enough to talk about this... PEACE and ALL THE LOVE OF CHRIST.

From this Man's perspective... God has a plan for our Sexual pleasure in this world, and only he can fulfill and provide satisfaction of that pleasure. We can not put the pressure of fulfilling the pleasure on the shoulders of others... I hope this next part makes since... It wasn't until I realized that there was NO WAY my wife could fulfill my made up ideal of pleasure, made up from the lies I allowed my self to live... That I came to understand that God had provided her to me, to fulfill the pleasure that HE had planned for me. It was then that I was able to open up and love on her first not worrying about my pleasure(Because I know God will take care of it for me). Let me put it to you this way. I told my wife: "You can not meet my sexual needs... There is no way you can. Only God can, but he has provided you to me so I can love on you, and rely on him for my needs... " Our sex life changed, she is free from having to try and meet my made up ideals. and umm.. yes I will say it... Our Sex no better than Excellent .... THANK YOU GOD!!!! :D Sex/Love is not something for us to consume, it is meant for us to give away. Want to experience the true nature of love/sex... GIVE IT AWAY without expectation of your desire to be fulfilled. Mind blowing.... :D

Sex isn't bad? No way....Next you will say it is better than chocolate.... Not much more to add...More parents just need to help their kids understand the tremendous gift from God sex is, and how self control when it relates to purity will equal a greater pleasure than they know.

I will add.. Purity = something much different than abstinence. I can abstain from sex and not be pure in thought and heart.

It is not about keeping them from having sex. Purity is about motivation to chose what is the correct course of action. To me it is about changing what motivates the kids. Unfortunately the world is doing a much better job and motivating towards the "Do what feels good mentality". Kids do not fear being a statistic. What is the motive for teaching abstinence, just to protect against STD's or Pregnancy? Kid's do not understand statistics, and they feel invincible. They just don't think it will happen to them. Heck I didn't think that way, and thank God that I did not become a part of the statistic. If a child is truly loved, and taught about what love truly is, the motivation for not having sex before marriage becomes Love. (Love is now my motive for maintaining purity in my marriage now) That true love comes through Christ, and we will not change the motivation of the kids unless we start loving them like Christ does.
