ah, fendabenda, thank you. english is my second language, main one being spanish, so i guess yes, im usually unconsciously attaching an article to any profession. as you mentioned in spanish for instance if i want to refer to someone else i would use "el" or "la" police officer. but if i want to say i am a police officer i would say "soy policia", in this case policia has no gender but of course, if its you who is saying that, people wont need the word man or woman to know which one you are. i think thats why i was more tempted to use police officer than policeman or policewoman :) also, mankind was awesome!

nice idea but, most of these movies are quite high on the crappinessmeter. anyways, janet leigh from psycho is a no brainer. guy pearce in the hurt locker, liam neeson in gangs of ny maybe could be a nice addition too. and if its early in the movie then orson wells in citizen kane :)

everytime someone makes a best movie list you end you reading about the same movies. maybe diversifying to other known film festivals that give awards to movies for their quality and that are not so constrained by studios would be a good idea like say for example winners of the golden bear in berlin or the palm d'or in cannes. you wouldnt even have to change the name of the list. but back to your list i agree with most of them and glad to see both godfather movies made it to the top 3
