There have been hints for a long, long time that Rose Quartz was far more complicated and gray than Garnet knew or Pearl wanted to acknowledge. The reveal that she was Pink Diamond all along falls right into that... and yeah, it's also massively fucked up in so many ways.

I do think that Pink Diamond/Rose Quartz is like... a newly "woke" white person who is suddenly like "Oh shit, I've been doing wrong things!" but they only really understand the more blatant wrong things and aren't yet educated enough to understand the deep, systemic cultural wrongs built in to their society. So they only fight the blatant wrongs because that's what they see. They can't fight the systemic cultural stuff because they don't see or understand it yet. So... Pink Diamond became concerned for Earth because Earth was right there. Easily seen, blatant. And it never occurred to her to apply that concern to any other planet. Maybe she never believed she could do anything about other planets because they "belong" to the other Diamonds. Or maybe she just never thought that far.

I hope, very strongly, that this is the end goal of this series. That Steven will do what his mother never did, and fight for all worlds and all life, not just Earth.

John was always going to die an early death. He was on this trajectory from the very first episode; John was not a man who would ever live to old age. I'm glad his death was doing something he believed in and protecting people.

I HATED the sudden kiss between John and Carter that made her into another fridged woman for him--that's been done not only forever and ever in fiction, but in John's own past. Like, FUCK, WHY???

However, with the exception of John's part of it, I actually have always felt like if they were going to kill Carter, they (mostly) handled it really well. Carter went out on her terms--she brought down HR. She had to bend the rules a little to do it, but she never broke them entirely. She didn't kill anyone. She got her man. Joss Carter was Joss Carter with her unwavering sense of right and wrong right up until the end.

And I even felt the way they dealt with Fusco's grief--and even Elias'!--was done well, because the focus was on Carter. On the way she changed them (in Fusco's case) or how she represented something they couldn't aspire to (in Elias'). It wasn't about their pain, even though they were in pain, but about honoring her. That's how I saw it, anyway. But, I am coming from a white perspective with all the privileges therein.

But yeah fuck John's manpain.

There’s no mistaking that it became an intelligence anymore, especially we saw how it BASICALLY LED FINCH TO GRACE.

So, headcanon time:

In my head the Machine is a teenage girl who thinks of Finch as her dad who deserves to have someone good in his life. And the whole time it's trying to lead Finch to Grace and he's utterly confused and trying to figure out what's gone wrong, the Machine is just like "NO DAD SHE'S REALLY NICE. DAD STOP. DAD I'M NOT MALFUNCTIONING. DAD JUST GO TALK TO HER."

Long time so see, Mark! Glad to see you've been watching PERSON OF INTEREST. I love this show!

I remember being so angry at this show for now showing whether or not Reese killed this asshole. Because I wanted him to kill him, full stop. Shoot that fucker right between the eyes.

I have no moral qualms over this desire to see rapists die.
