Best of luck with it. I often think a shake up of the magnitude you are experiencing would be the best way to get me out of my doldrums. I'm sure I'd encounter absurdities and difficulties but they would be other absurdities and difficulties, not my own! I often have "romantic" dreams of wandering the earth with my little boy, but I think the reality would be quite different!

The closest I've come to experiencing that is when I went to San Francisco in early December and it was 20 degrees and there were lots of Christmas decorations up and Santa grottos everywhere. I was walking around in a t-shirt and sunglasses, very odd. It must be even more unsettling when it's a (semi) permanent shift and you have to get used to it on a larger scale. I talked to a south african friend of mine about some of your experiences and she said she would never go back, just couldn't cope with it, much prefers life in the UK.

What a transient life you are living at the moment! It's seems a lot to get to grips with very quickly but you seem to be settling in OK. Loved hearing about the differences between SA and the UK. Would love to hear more about that. Polly

Really must try to get into this challenge more this year. Photography fascinates me but I never seem to have the time to do any! Will try to look at other people's entries, at least. Polly

I forget my passwords too, all the time. You've got a busy life, how would you find the time to work too?! Not getting a maid is good exercise, I'm sure.

Ha, ha! That could be me! I was roughly the same age, loved that same album, wore baggy jumpers like that. Happy Christmas. Polly

I'm not familiar with this carol but I love the last two lines! Pudding, pudding, pudding, pudding! Could have been written for me.

I like that these seem to be linked to previous posts. I can always look back at the others if I need to be reminded of how the story is developing. I want to know why the father can't be a High Priest.
