DynCorp International Selected for Department of State Worldwide Criminal Justice Program Support Contract

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – June 13, 2011 – DynCorp International (DI) today announced that it has been selected by the U.S. Department of State (DoS) Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) as one of five providers on the Criminal Justice Program Support (CJPS) contract.

Awarded on May 10, 2011, the multiple-award, indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract has one base year with four option years and a total value of $10 billion across all providers. DI will compete with the four other providers for task orders to support criminal justice sector development programs worldwide, providing advisors, other specialists, and life and mission support services.

“Supporting the development of law enforcement and criminal justice programs around the world is one of our core competencies and we bring decades of experience to these programs,” said DI president Steve Schorer. “We are honored to have the opportunity to compete for task orders under this contract and look forward to supporting this important program.”

I don't share your faith in the market. "Destroying the enemy" entails killing people and breaking their stuff and is highly illegal when done by anybody except military or paramilitary agents of a Westphalian nation-state sanctioned to perform such acts. War is the continuation of politics by other means, and politicians declare who the enemy is and appropriate funds to pay for fighting him. There is no significant constituency clamoring for Letters of Marque & Reprisal politicians need appease.

Are a majority of Americans prepared to accept the use of deadly force against illegal entry? No, they are not, & until they are, the Ruling Class will continue importing more docile subjects until the Country Class is rendered irrelevant. Victory is critical you say, but if victory really was critical, wouldn't a vision of what "victory" looks like have already been strategically communicated to the domestic target audience? Wouldn't the support of the domestic target audience for the war effort be a matter of some official concern? Wouldn't there be an Office of War Information explaining Why We Fight? Wouldn't advocates of "not victory" be demonized as unpatriotic hadji-hugging defeatist wankers? Wouldn't leakers of confidential informant identities be sanctioned instead of aided? If victory truly was critical to anyone other than the warfighters and the people who care about the warfighters, the answer to all of the above would be YES.
