One of the things I hope to do eventually is restore the rear staircase in our house (reverse the direction) so your photos gave a few important things I had been pondering.

Our house is 1750 and in pretty good condition, alas we also need to replace sills and beams:( Out of curiosity, how and where is your back staircase positioned?
