I see how it is Jared! If the Verge does it; you have to do it! :P Actually, there are a LOT of advantages to building your own desktop. You took all of my list, except; there's NO garbage-ware loaded before you get it. It's just the hardware, and the OS. That's all it should be. Also, generally; box PCs are cheaper, but you get the bigger bang if you kit out your own.

If you're referring to the whole, "Windows 8 will be tied to a unique identifier in the UEFI" thing, that will only apply to computers that ship in a box; and even then, people are free to create a recovery disc, wipe the partition, dump whatever other OS they want on it; and if they don't like it, reinstall Windows. As a matter of fact, activation will be a cinch, since the unique identifier can be passed to Microsoft and they can validate it. It's the people that build their own computers I'm worried about. They have to continue dealing with the same licensing stuff as the last three versions of Windows.

I believe the definer of whether this will be a next-gen console game or not is whether they use just Los Santos or the entire state of San Andreas on the launch. If they do indeed use the entire state on current gen hardware, they have some AMAZING compression tech.

Meh, almost everything I hit with my iPod Touch's screen is a definite "hit", except the keyboard. I have large hands. Haptic feedback would be nice however, especially when typing. Some apps on iOS have a "back button", which is typically located on the top-left corner of the screen, that behaves universally (stepping backwards in sequence like I would expect a back button to do). It's just up to the developer to implement it.

I keep Windows XP in a virtual environment because I don't feel like messing around with Dosbox to play my old games. Running the OS native on either of my machines would seriously hamper them, with DX9 and 4Gb of RAM or less. These media programs and games need all the hardware the computer offers.
