I don't understand this obsession with the colour of someones skin. Don't you employ the best person for the job? How does employing a proven professional with extensive experience in the industry have a negative impact on the dignity of Malaysians? I think that what has happened over the past 20 years to a once great global brand that competed with SIA, CX and BA but now competes with AA, Malindo and Jetstar has had a much greater negative impact on the dignity of Malaysians. As for the security of a nation, the only threat MAS posed to the security of the nation was when one of its airliners managed to fly across the country without being intercepted. There comes a time when you have to accept that you can't do something on your own and you need some help. I applaud the PM for what he is doing with MAS.

I believe this is a really smart appointment. But what I like most is that a lot of thought has gone into this restructuring/reinvention with the renegotiation of the sweetheart deals, the layoffs and the setting up of the reskilling centre plus the capital made available by the government gives a really good chance for the MAS brand to succeed.
