Malay Mail : Examine support structures for smokers — Hafidz Baharom | What You Think | Malay Mail Online

This is a good read. The only way to reduce smoking is with a holistic brand and experience strategy that involves every touchpoint. From parents, to sundry shops to enforcement agencies, to doctors, to teachers, to children to smokers and ex smokers. Only then will we reduce smoking in Malaysia. https://brandconsultantasia.com/2009/09/03/it-fai...

Malay Mail : ‘Foreigner, you are not welcome to stay here’: Shah Alam condo bans non-native tenants |

Quote: Norhayaty said the policy was put in place by the JMB to avoid untoward incidences, explaining that foreigners were “not necessarily knowledgeable of local culture and customs”, specifically that of Alam Prima residents who were 98 per cent Malay-Bumiputera. “If we allow [foreigners to stay here], we’re afraid of problems arising. The policy is a preventive measure,” she said. I've lived in Europe, the Middle East and across Asia and I've never encountered such a desperately sad, rascist, repulsive and probably illegal attitude. Here's an idea Norhayaty, the next time a foreigner isn't knowledgeable about your culture and customs, reach out to them and educate them instead of taking the easy way out. If they aren't interested, don't give up on the rest of the world and retreat into your shell, put it down as their loss not yours and try again the next time. You have an amazing culture with some beautiful customs that should be shared with the world not hidden away. And if a problem arises, call the police, that's what they are there for.

Malay Mail : Malaysians most English proficient in Asia, ahead of Singaporeans, survey claims | Malaysia | Malay

Quote "EF has however acknowledged that there are significant flaws in their methodology, and that the data samples they collect may not accurately reflect the average English proficiency of the countries in question." If this is the case, the whole project is a complete waste of time and money!

I disagree, one of the many unwritten laws of driving and parking are that you don't stand in a space stopping other people from parking while your friend drives around the block. Be patient and you'll find a space anyway.

The Malaysian Insider : Let local run MAS, lawyers’ group tells Putrajaya - The Malaysian Insider

I don't understand this obsession with the colour of someones skin. Don't you employ the best person for the job? How does employing a proven professional with extensive experience in the industry have a negative impact on the dignity of Malaysians? I think that what has happened over the past 20 years to a once great global brand that competed with SIA, CX and BA but now competes with AA, Malindo and Jetstar has had a much greater negative impact on the dignity of Malaysians. As for the security of a nation, the only threat MAS posed to the security of the nation was when one of its airliners managed to fly across the country without being intercepted. There comes a time when you have to accept that you can't do something on your own and you need some help. I applaud the PM for what he is doing with MAS.

Malay Mail : Khazanah picks new CEO, leadership team for MAS Baru | Malaysia | Malay Mail Online

I believe this is a really smart appointment. But what I like most is that a lot of thought has gone into this restructuring/reinvention with the renegotiation of the sweetheart deals, the layoffs and the setting up of the reskilling centre plus the capital made available by the government gives a really good chance for the MAS brand to succeed. Here's an insight into how to rebuild the brand
