I've played with a lot of players of all ages and it does seem like players over 40 *generally* struggle more with situational awareness and reaction time. That said, I've known an excellent, versatile 42 year player and I've met plenty of slow young players.

My guild is a 25 man raiding guild (we're level 11 or level 12 at the moment). I'm actually leaving them in the near future (and they know about it), but I don't have any concrete plans for future guilds yet.

The Daycare, that's a good one. I must admit, I'm not even a GM or officer, but sometimes think of my guild as "The Nursery". Don't tell them though!

The tooltips ingame are no longer accurate so you can't use them to calculate the values (unless they fixed them on Tuesday...will have to check) . It's interesting that the base values you found for each spell was well below the base value indicated on WoWhead. Where those values taken from the tooltip or from experimentation? I originally thought that when they buffed paladins, they buffed our coefficients, but it seems like they buffed our base values instead.
Odd that the coefficients you found were actually lower than the ones I found, since we were both going by tooltips.

I especially love promoting guild jargon because it's not only useful to shorten instructions, it also creates a sense of belonging among the raiders in a team.

After answering all the comments on my own blog, my brain is fried so I'm coming off as really mechanical. I don't mean to sound angry.
I find it age to be really interesting too! In my current guild, most of us are close in age, but when I was in an older guild, I used to wonder what these people were thinking of this 20somethings kid telling them what to do and how to be better players.

My latest post had been brewing in my head since the RealID fiasco, where suddenly it seemed like every blogger, even the men, was using "but the WoW community is so hostile towards women! Women can't even talk on vent out of fear of being harassed/treated unfairly/mocked!" as an excuse to say RealID was bad. I mean, yeah, it's totally an necessary risk, but since when is the WoW community as bad as it's being made out to be? And why wasn't I aware that talking on vent was dangerous?
I do talk a lot about gender on my blog, but it's because I find it interesting. I'm such a people watcher, I love everything that has to do with social behaviour. To each our own. Some people like sports. I like people.
