I gave up on this one fairly early on because I was so bored with it. Sounds like the second half is where it finally got good. It's too bad this one didn't live up to all the hype for you but sounds like you still enjoyed parts of it :)

Stitching Snow almost made it onto my list too. It was so hard choosing only 10! You picked some really nice ones, I also love The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender.

I've actually never paid attention to the Goodreads average when choosing a book. If it sounds like something I'd enjoy I'm going to read it regardless of what other people are saying. I do like reading the 1 star reviews for books though to see what people had issues with. FYI, I also hated Mara Dyer!

I love the Unearthly series. My goal is to finish the series this year too! I just have the last book and any novellas (I'm not sure if there's more than this one?)

I was really looking forward to this one so hopefully I enjoy it a little more. The narrator is definitely key to enjoying an audiobook. It's too bad this one wasn't very good. I always try and listen to a sample to decide whether or not I like reading beforehand.
