I've read several of these and enjoyed them all--We Killed, Mary and Lou . . ., Revolution Was Televised, I Want My MTV (this one was on my list this week of oral histories), and From Scratch. I haven't heard of Sitcom--I'll need to add that one to my TBR!

I've read and liked Isabel Gillies' two memoirs--I didn't know she had a new book. I need to investigate Starry Nights!

I did like some of Grisham's earlier books--especially The Firm and A Time To Kill (a great book!) but then after awhile, all of his books kind of started seeming too similar to me.

I'm a pretty fast reader, and often will read a 300-400 page book in a weekend--but sometimes I get in a bad habit of reading so quickly that I'm not remembering what I've read. When that happens I have to consciously remind myself to slow down--it's not a race! Ultimately I want my reading to be more about quality than quantity. I feel that if all a person is doing is reading quickly to simply "get through" a certain number of books in a year--or whatever period of time--what's the point? If we don't take the time to savor good writing and appreciate the author's craft, we're really doing a disservice to ourselves!
That being said, it is tempting sometimes to rush through a book--when I look at my TBR list, there are so many books that I want to read, that it seems as though I'll never have time for them all!
