I adored Fangirl, but the fan fic parts were my least favourite bits as well. I think that's because I didn't really have anything to do with the actual story of Fangirl, so I was just always kind of impatient to get back to Cath's life. I'm still excited to read Carry On, though, so I'm glad to hear you liked it! :-)

Ohh these look delicious! Fun coincidence: I've got peanut butter and banana muffins baking away in the oven right now. :)

Oh yum, these look great! I've never made bars like these before, but it's definitely something I want to try soon. :-)

Oooh, that mug is just perfect! Now I want one, oops. The Time Turner necklace is amazing, too, so detailed!

These look DELICIOUS. I tried making macarons this summer, but they didn't turn out exactly as they should have. I'm definitely going to try again, though!

I agree with you on the dustjacket thing. I always take it off when I start reading a hardcover that has a dustjacket, exactly for the same reason: those jackets tear so easily, it seems like a waste to keep them on. And if the cover of the hardback gets slightly blemished, you can put on the dustjacket again to cover it up!

I think I prefer paperbacks over hardbacks, though, although I'm not 100% sure. Paperbacks are much easier to hold and a lot less heavy to take with you. Plus, as you said, they're so much cheaper! However, hardbacks are much more durable. I think in the end I'm going for paperbacks, though. The majority of my books are in paperback format as well, just because I don't want to spend the extra money on a hardback that'll be much more annoying to read anyway.

England is just the best place for amazing story ideas, isn't it? I wrote my first (and at this point, only (and still unedited)) novel after getting back from traveling around the south of England for three weeks. It's just so beautiful!
I always find it fascinating to see how other people are fascinated by my little country (I'm from the Netherlands). What other places did you visit in the Netherlands? :-)
