Man. This was totally my jam, I was so obsessed with Hard Candy and Urban Outfitters makeup and thought that was the height of sophistication. It's pretty bad in retrospect but I can't help feeling some affection for those trends anyway. They were just so FUN and totally devoid of self-consciousness. Everyone was just like I LIKE SPARKLY, WHEEEEE.

I am in the same boat, except I don't have any recommendations to go off, only a provider list from my insurance website that so far seems to be woefully inaccurate. I already have a lot of anxiety about calling to try to take this first step and the possibility that my information isn't correct is only making it worse. I'm not sure what I'm so afraid of, other than some potentially awkward phone interactions. But reading your post made me feel a little better that I'm apparently not the only one having a hard time with this. I wish you all the luck.

The defense of "this is just what gamers do, he didn't mean it and he didn't know it was you so you shouldn't take it personally" argument makes me absolutely INSANE. How can anyone not see that that's absolutely just as problematic?
