She is so beautiful and you and Fred are so blessed!
I had my ear (yes, singular) pierced when I was 8 or 9 and I was so scared of the pain I refused to let them do the second hole so it wasn't until I was a teenager I think that I got my ears pierced. Pathetic. And it wasn't at a cool piercing pagoda!

Oh he is so hot! His dad is pretty controlling but he's not...he likes his way but he's worth giving in to :) hence, putting up with the hoarding!

You and I are so simpatico…I periodically go on these crazy cleaning sprees where I just PURGE everything. If I haven't looked at it, touched it etc in a month then it goes out. I hate having lots of stuff around junking the place up. I used to worry "oh but what if" trust me, when that what if time comes, you just buy what you need…unfortunately my boyfriend is kind of a hoarder…when he moves in (hopefully getting engaged soon!) I might have a Fred situation on my hands, and then I will be on the phone with you asking for advice. My boyfriend isn't French, he is Argentinian which may be worse, I don't know, the French are pretty awful though, but I do love croissant.

I'm so sorry for your loss, but glad that the community has rallied around you. It's always interesting to me how much comfort one can glean just by knowing people (even strangers) care about you.

I swear to you I'm not trying to be mean or provocative, this is a serious question. I keep reading on your blog and in the comments of Jenna's blog on posts about TWLC how much you want to lose weight, that you're going to limit sweets etc but so many of your posts are food and baking related (especially treats)…can you help me understand the dichotomy? I guess for me, when I want to get on a healthy path I don't bake a bunch of sweets -- maybe that's bc I'm single and with a family you need to cater to their needs/tastes? I'm just curious bc to me it seems really triggering and would be defeatist for me…are you able to cook/bake/keep these things in the house and not eat them? I wouldn't be able to!

I need to stop reading your blog because it only fuels my fantasy to adopt a child and I am in no position to do it! But good lord you're gorgeous amazing kids! Claire's hair is phenomenal by the way!

I started googling adoption. Did you know there's a wiki how to page for how to adopt a baby from China? It's 14 steps long. I think they over-simplified.

In NYS there's an adoption registry of all these kids in foster care (all older) who need homes...they have pictures and written profiles and some include notes that the child wrote themselves. I can't look at it anymore because every time I do I burst into tears thinking about these kids who are lonely and need homes. It makes me hate that case manager a little bit....she should call you back damn it!

PS I'm a straight woman but even I like to look at the ladies and enjoyed your pic of the bathing suit clad beach umbrella wrangler.

So assuming one abstains from sex during their period, with this method 19 days out of 30 you can't have sex??!! This sounds absolutely horrendous to me! I have no doubt of its efficacy but my Gd the deprivation! I got off of hormone contraceptives after about 10 years of being on them because I'm tired of pumping hormones into my body unnecessarily. I'm considering getting a diaphragm. I've heard the IUD is very good for those who have children (and complaints of pain upon insertion for those who have never given birth).
