I was once at a talk by Hector Avalos, and there was a creationist in the audience who admitted, "I don't know much about astrology, but..." Many disbelieving glances were exchanged between other audience members. And he brought up the 2nd law of thermodynamics, which Dr. Avalos swiftly and effectively refuted.

You might watch the video "A Universe From Nothing," which was a presentation by theoretical physicist Lawrence Krauss. He is working on a book by the same name.

For me, I feel like it's more intellectually honest to say "I don't know" than to assert that there must have been a cause of the universe, which is cause "X," and we'll call that cause "God." If that is the case, it would be possible to call cause "X" any number of things. Besides, if everything has to come from something else, then to say that God is somehow exempted from that rule, or somehow lies outside of the universe, is cheating.

Shouldn't there be a ban against ministers being alone with other people's children?

It's annoying to see a huge, multi-million dollar mega church in the same part of town as decrepit, run-down schools. It'd be better to tax the churches and have community events, fund-raisers, and donations at the schools instead.
