The Malaysian Insider : KL-Singapore high speed rail project to start in 2016 - The Malaysian Insider

Actually, SPAD has no jurisdiction in Sabah/Sarawak for some reason, to do with autonomy of Sabah/Sarawak I believe. Do look into it, but that is why SPAD's blueprint masterplan etc does not include any projects for Sabah/Sarawak.

The Malaysian Insider : Can Putrajaya stomach MAS revival plans? - The Malaysian Insider

We've been hearing about this lopsided Brahim's deal for years and years. Why can't they renegotiate the contract, and if Brahim's decides to launch a suit for compensation, Malaysian taxpayers make them pay lah by boycotting their products. We are now such experts at boycotting without basis - McDonald's, Cadbury's to name a few, why not this then?

The Malaysian Insider : Police investigates Korean tourist with Quranic top - The Malaysian Insider

I must say the best thing about this post is that not a single person (or troll) has come up with a comment to argue the case for this poor woman's arrest; showing that across the board from every side, all Malaysians realise this was just a silly misunderstanding and we're all agree it should be put behind us quickly. Thumbs up to all! :D

I feel Rayer should apologise as well, and his tirade in Penang assembly was quite pointless and a waste of time, but honestly one should not excuse the behaviour by UMNO Youth. It is criminal, and ironic when they say much worse things about DAP in return with impunity. How many times has it been called racist chinese pigs, chauvinist, etc?

"Before you speak, think two or three times. If you think what you say will not affect anyone, then go ahead and say it, otherwise, this is the consequence," he said during a working visit to Penang in conjunction with the Bukit Gelugor by-election. Pretty easy to see where his sympathies lie

The Malaysian Insider : Dyana Sofya made subject of sexism, says DAP - The Malaysian Insider

True, she is subject of sexism and attacks against her because of her age and looks, as expected by opposition parties, but it doesn't help much when PR parties also go on about her looks. On nomination day, how many speeches by PAS, PKR and DAP speakers also pointed out that she is easy on the eyes to get laughs and cheers from the crowd? Get your own guys in line as well, I say!

For once i'm on the side of BN in this. Quite shameful behaviour by Rayer here. Much more relevant issues to be discussed than the rubbish brought up here. And I think the countercomments by BN Backbenchers totally appropriate. Concentrate on getting work done guys, instead of blowing hot air!

The Malaysian Insider : Nuns were attacked with helmets by at least two assailants - The Malaysian Insider

From all presented here, it looks like a robbery attempt to me. Just poor elderly ladies targeted in early morning to take their bags. Do note they were in normal clothes, not habits. There is plenty of religious distrust and hate already without us fanning more flames on unfounded speculation and bias.

Contrary to many, personally believe 36/head is not too bad, lah. Of course extra must be budgeted in case more people turn up, etc. so easily extra 20-25% there. As far as government wastages go, I think this one is not too bad, and there are much worse areas to focus on lah. Of course can be better, but not too bad lah. Maybe I'm just too jaded? Hmm..

I believe the value of Ridzuan Condominium property should be devalued greatly as a result of this rubbishy policy, which is a reflection of a very bad management that is managing the place. in any case, to the author, I'd say not let the actions of some devalue your experience of Malaysia and the friendships you've made, or cheapen the education you've gained both in and outside the classroom. Congratulations on a job well done!

The Malaysian Insider : Main - Malaysia - For BN, EIU says GE13 already in the bag @ Thu Feb 21 2013

I'm always amazed how everyone simply dismisses positive news on BN and flak against PR. EIU also knows how to do its job, as do people in Bank Islam. Analysts always place different calls on stocks depending on their analyst, and a smart investor will look at the data they used to come to their own conclusion. Similarly, PR and PR supporters need to look at the areas highlighted by EIU here and realise their shortcomings and fix them pronto!

An inflation rate of 1.3% is hardly worrying news. Everything I've read here seems to indicate the economy is doing fairly robustly, but of course external global conditions may shake that up in the future, but for now, it seems the economy is doing fine, no matter how this article tries to spin a worrying thread into it :P
