Both of them I can reread endlessly and always find something new and deeply moving. Especially ATGIB--every time I read it I cry at how simple and heartbreaking and wonderful it is. It's such a specific but wonderfully evocative portrait of a family and a time that you can smell the sidewalk and you feel the heat. And it's as much a story about mothers and daughters and Katie as it is about Francie--and families and addiction and struggle and beauty and the mystery of the world. God, I love it. I love it.
