I never really considered your last point, but it's so true for me, now that I think about it. There will those books that you just don't feel like reading anymore and suddenly you'll find yourself doing pretty much anything but reading. Though I have had this pretty much ever since I started reading, it definitely got more pronounced once I started blogging. There are just so many books out there that I'd rather be enjoying than struggling through certain others.

I always think I want to be a writer, but seeing as I'm just absolutely crap at putting words on a paper, I'm not so sure if it's a valid option for me. Perhaps I like the idea of writing more than the actual act of it?

as soon as I read: "don't read any reviews" I stopped reading. Because I'm actually looking forward to reading this, and I'm just gonna go in without any knowledge, as per your suggestion. I'll come back when I've finally read the book ;)

I actually have no clue as to how fast or slow I read. I guess it also depends on how into the book I am, but in general I'm a medium reader I think. I'm not super slow, but really not fast either. But some time ago there were all these blogposts popping up about how you can speed up your reading pace. And it talked about not reading aloud in your head and all that. And I tried that, but I really didn't like it. It made me feel less connected to the story and as if I missed certain nuances. So I've given up on reading faster and I'm just sticking with my own pace from now on.

I also have an e-reader and I love it; I too have noticed that I read more since buying one, because you can just always carry a bunch of books with you wherever you go. You will always have a book with you for every possible mood you could be in. I love that it doesn't take up much space and that it doesn't weigh a lot. Great for travelling and just generally going places. I also look up a lot more words, due to the built-in dictionary. It has changed my life for the better and I will not be parting with my e-reader. We are real readers, because it's not about which form the book is in when you read it. It's about reading something that was written by an author. And that's that.
