Thanks mate, I dare say I do have the \\\"dream job\\\" and I\\\'m lucky to have it, and I guess the blog is one way of telling my story and how I got here and how others can hopefully do the same. Glad you enjoyed it.

That\\\'s so true Ryan, as you saw on the landing pages everyone has a different agenda. Manchester want to add fans, the Dolphins want to push their mobile apps and its obvious Everton want to push fans back to their website. Whatever playing field is your home ground, as a marketer that\\\'s where you should play and for everton its the web. Cheers for the comment

Thanks Nick. The Jets game <a href=\\\"http://www.insidesocialgames.com/2010/09/07/new-york-jets-arkadium-facebook-nfl/\\\" rel=\\\"nofollow\\\">launched this week and looks great. I think the way it\\\'s trending is that a landing page isn\\\'t enough anymore, you will need games and activities on your page. Increase fans, time on site, and ultimately get them to spend on the Facebook page whether its buying game credits, virtual goods or real life merchandise

SportSpiel : Which Geolocation Platform Is Best for Sports Marketers?

Hey Deandara, I love the Gowalla platform, it was absoloutely sensation what they did with the Nets! But from what I know, the only reason why that happened is that the Nets employed Vayner Media as their marketing partner, whose co-founder is also an investor in Gowalla, so they had access to Gowalla\\\'s software that the wider business community doesn\\\'t have. If that becomes something open to the wider public, then it is a completely new way to market to fans and would be something that is really exciting.

Thanks for the comment Jason. It will be interesting to see what Facebook allows Places to become from a marketing standpoint, and how customised the experience can become. Im also really looking forward to the first team to give the check-in experience, some real world currency and taking their digital marketing efforts from online to offline.

The UK Sports Network : Manchester United launch official Facebook Page

This is a great post Dan. To see them back off Twitter recently, was really surprising, even though they had players like Rio on there. For such a large club like ManU to miss out on the opportunities that Facebook can present was quite disappointing. What's next...an official Twitter page too? *gasp*

The Australian league just signed a new TV deal as well on a big network. You know what I'm pushing to re-connect with their fans...social media. Don't want to spam, but I wrote about it here: http://www.sportspiel.com.au/2010/06/what-the-nhl... Think of NBL = BBL and it should make sense, I hope.

SportSpiel : How Can Old Media Integrate New Media?

Couldn't agree more Adelaide, in a rural town the gossip section can be the starting place of the majority of news. I think Michael is on to a winner with the way he is asking for feedback continuously.

More quality work Ash. The sport will always struggling for mainstream attention when it is going against monolyths like EPL and Rugby in the UK I believe, but in the lead up to the Olympics it's such a good opportunity for the sport. If you can work in Deng and Gordon into your promotion as well that will only help promote the game and hopefully more coverage will come from that.

Sports Marketing 2.0 | Pat Coyle : Anyone and everyone following #FIFA #WorldCup?

Nice post Pat, especially the conversation of other sports like MLB. The fact that they've brought World Cup reporting in house is pretty unique, and maybe its a test case for future events? It's a pretty big event to run a test case on, if that's where they're headed.

SportSpiel : What The NHL Can Teach The NBL About Social Media

The Tigers aren't on Twitter for one, but do regularly update their Facebook page. It is a free platform I agree, but it's not free in terms of time, these things do take plenty of man hours and thats where the NBL needs to open its doors to volunteers like any of us here who have commented here. I think we all want the best for the game, and we are all willing to put the hard yards in, I know I am. Cheers for the comment Trav.

You're right, and as a country we really are 12-18 months behind in the social media space. It will get better no doubt, but right now businesses are yet to see the advantages of the medium, which is a shame. Thanks for the comment!

I've been reading your site for a long time and it has been a lot for the NBA content, sadly. I'd love to read more NBL content but the exposure isn't as great, and I really hope the NBL starts to push great content from citizen journalists, or even gaze.com.au rather than relying on a smaller group of 2-3 people in house.
