I know what you mean! The trouble with me was, I could never have one or two drinks, it was always a binge - and then I'd be sick for days. Ugh! No thanks.

Good on you! There are good things about giving up alcohol - like waking up on New Year's Day NOT feeling like you're going to die. I'm EXTREMELY boring now I've given up drinking, but I just couldn't stand the hangovers anymore.

That's the great thing about a holiday at home - Millie and Pearl get to share it!

With you there! Travelling is a waste of time for me - I spend half the holiday recovering from the stress of getting there and the other half stressing about the journey back. For once we're having a good summer here, and since we live by the sea there's no need to go anywhere else.

One of my token offers used to be, 'If you need to talk, call anytime, night or day'. Then I would turn the phone off. I've since learned it's probably better not to make the offer.
Re the weather, if you do even learn to control it, please send some of your Pinky fairy dust to the UK. Our weather has gone crazy this month - blizzards last week, biblical rain yesterday, and summery sunshine today. I can't keep up!

Even better! Re Pablo (poor little thing - though I couldn't help laughing about the bum licking thing), if the warm bath doesn't work, you might need to take him to the vet to have the glands emptied. Horribly undignified for a self-respecting animal, but he'll feel better afterwards!

OMG, what a nightmare! And I was moaning about a couple of little leaks in my roof and having to have new heating.
My ideal son-in-law would be a successful publisher who loved my books!

Dog hair is the worst for murdering vacuum cleaners. I went through loads before I gave in and forked out for a Dyson - a basic one, not one of those advanced ones that look like something off Star Wars. I'd need a degree in engineering to work one of those.

We call them bouncy castles here in the UK, and they provide great entertainment - especially when they blow away in a high wind with all the kids inside.
Only joking... honest!!

Never could stand Dickens... apart from the names he came up with for his characters. Comic genius!
