I'm glad that you loved this book!!! I think Hannah Harrington is totally underrated. When I read this book, I was blown away. Then I worked with the UK publisher to do a day of silence and it just made me understand how hard it really is to be silent, especially for Chelsea who really loves to talk.

I totally feel the same way. I thought R&R was just okay. I wanted Alina to end up with the Darkling, and understood that he gone too far for that ever to be possible. I didn't ever want him to be "redeemed", I wanted Alina to choose the bad guy. But if not the Darkling, I wanted Nikolai, basically anyone other than Mal. I never liked Mal and I still don't. I know this story is more than the love angle, but that factor messed it up for me.

I remember reading this awhile ago and I absolutely adored it. It's so cute and I adore Sarah Strohmeyer's YA books. I think this is my favorite of the books of hers that I've read.

This still is definitely one of my favorite of the year. I love the family dynamic and the love dynamic too. I just think it was such a satisfying read. I loved how real it felt. Now, if I could just snag myself a copy of the conclusion, I'd be so freaking happy. (I'm so glad that you liked it too!)

I know people hated the ending, but I liked it. I thought it was a brave choice and oh boy – I cried. But now it's made me distrust series that start in one pov then moves to multiple povs later on in the series. I'm not a huge fan of the series in general, but I thought it was okay.

I've heard such mixed reviews about Half Bad. I don't really like fantasies but I feel after reading your review and a handful of others, that I might give Half Bad a chance. I have a feeling that I really might like Nathan. I'm not excited about the slow starting plot, but I think if Nathan is a really great character like I imagine then I'll give it a chance.

I don't know...I took a creative writing class my last semester (so from Jan-Mayish of this year) and it changed the way that I looked at books. When I read now, I usually reread the story twice, once reading it from a reader/reviewer's pov and the other time (if I like it and am envious of the writing) I look at it from a writer's pov. As a writer, I love the beginning. It's where you get to fall in love with the character and try to con someone into liking them too, you know? Because for a lot of people, if they're not compelled they'll stop reading. As a reader, I love the middle where the climax of the story takes place, but I also love endings because they're really quite hard to, cause if you can't eff it up then, because if you eff up in the end, you've just undone all the good work that you've done. So I'm officially unhelpful and I'm going say I'm a fan of them all*.

*If it's a good story.

I hate this so much. It's so insulting because what that implies is that, that character thinks he/she is better or smarter than the character it's directed at. Even if the intention is to be selfless. This device is used in The Selection and in my eyes once it's said, I hated the character and he couldn't be redeemed in my eyes.

I loved it too! Except unlike you, growing up I wasn't as attached to Beauty and the Beast. I mean I liked it, but I was a Little Mermaid girl. But I loved how I could link back to what I know at some parts but how Hodge also wasn't afraid to make this story her own. I couldn't turn the page fast enough. I totally love this book and it's such a pleasant surprise.

I read this a long time ago and I remember being very wide eyed towards this book. It's not a happy read, at least, I don't remember as a happy read but it's a book that I remember really liking. I think I need to reread it because the details are starting to slip away.
