Even if this monstrosity happened, they would have no sense of duty towards the Northern Ireland team. They would have signed players from all over the world. Wales has two Premier League teams but finished 5th in their group. Still, at least we could have read about them in The Independent, or when the report gets cut and pasted into the Belfast Telegraph.

Was so sad when I read this on Twitter this morning. Was still writing up until the end. Used to love when my dad bought me the Brodie Book every year. Walked past him a couple of times at matches, never really got a chance to speak to him. Get the feeling I would have been there for a few hours, but it would have been worth it. Saw tributes on Twitter from outside NI, which shows the esteem in which he was held.

I was amazed Glentoran didn't have a player sent-off for a professional foul. They were having to chase back so many times when Cliftonville were through on goal, it just needed one tackle to be a second late.

Everything Duckasareus has said. The edition on December 27th was the biggest farce. No mention on the back page of the previous days games, on one of the biggest days of the season. Even this website. 20 English football stories a day, barely that for IL in a month. I know people will trot out "But people in NI watch English football line" , we're getting lead stories from Wigan and Reading for crying out loud. I doubt people across NI are discussing at length these teams. UTV have just gone downhill the last few years for football coverage. Their Old Firm obsession is just cringeworthy.

Title is out of reach but Tipton's two best games for Linfield have come in the last two. His team-mates loved his goal, seems to be a bond there. A 3rd successive hat-trick v Cliftonville would be nice.

A 2-1 thrashing. Hoped Fordyce had scored the two chances that resulted in the goals. Nothing to do eith the fact he's on my Sunday Life Fantasy League team. Usually, this would be a big win. This year is no different, but sadly, the goal is UEFA Cup football. I know the main game of Boxing Day was in North Belfast, but it was disappointing to see the back page of Thursday's print edition lead with the Manchester clubs, with only a brief mention of North Belfast on the masthead (not even a picture) It's one of the biggest days of the local season, and barely a mention on the back page of the Bel Tel. A poor effort.

The reason only 15,000 attended Atletico-Chelsea was because that's the stadium capacity. Would be interesting to see what sort of crowd it would attend with a bigger stadium. An 18,000 Windsor hosting this might be ambitious, but Cardiff and Prague are only about 25,000 so UEFA are obviously keen on taking it to smaller grounds/countries, so we have a chance. The date of this game is usually the Friday when IL games are moved to for Black Saturday, so i'll give this a miss in favour of Linfield's trip to Ballyskeagh that night.
