This sounds really different and quite gritty - which I love! And I agree it's always interesting to read a book that's set somewhere different than the usual US settings. I love when the cultural element actually seeps into the story itself and adds a new level to the book. Lovely review :)

Happy Bloggy Birthday!! I totally agree with you about all the things you've learnt about blogging - especially not to request ALL THE BOOKS!! I can't really think of anything in particular that the should be more of...I do love readalongs, they're always lots of fun!
