Kari ... I just used that verse in a letter I wrote concerning plans for next year. How timely to read it here as well!

Kari, this is something I've been thinking about a lot -- I'm a very committed person, so when it's actually time to make a change (and would be more detrimental to stay) ... it's hard for me to make the leap.

Hi Kari, Mark pointed me over here having left a comment on my blog (I wrote "Take back the streets ... again!" at messymiddle.com) -- I'm a fan of trick-or-treating because it's the one night in America that we are encouraged to engage our communities and can just walk up to their doors and knock without having any big agenda (other than give me candy :)). But I do know that for a very small percentage, horrible things have happened on that night. But sigh, that's true for any night or any holiday. Anyway, enjoyed popping in and chatting!

I don't struggle with being perfect so much. BUT i do struggle with wanting to be involved in just ONE more thing! Or read one more book, listent to one more sermon. The voices I hear say, "there's always more to do :)"

A big part of my job is walkiing with people in transition -- both when they are just adjusting to life in China and when it's time to prepare to move back to North America. Through this a pssion has grown to help people "Finish Well" so that the wake we leave will be one that jostles and not upsets everything! These are jostling times :), but may you stay rooted in God and your community! (p.s. Reading "Write Good or Die" after your nudging last week!)

Yes, yes, yes! About a month ago I wrote a post on "When is enough, enough?" (http://wp.me/p1Ut5W-bf) -- it's along similar lines to thoughts you express here. It's become one of my "popular" posts and I think that is because we can each see ourselves WANTing our manna to be enough, but secretly fearing we will be lacking. Thanks for pointing me to return to TRUST :)!

I, too, am a reader! Right now I'm finished "The Worst Hard Times" (about those who stayed during the Dust Bowl), finishing up Yancey's book on Prayer, Have stared "The Blind Side" (LOVE sports), and "An Enchanted April" (haven't reread it for a while), and just finished "31 days for your blogging Mojo" -- let's see, I think that's it off the top of my head.

Yes, yes, yes! When I am focused on me, my job, or other things, I start to sink like Peter. But when I keep my eyes on God, the irony is that the other things screaming for my attention often come into better focus and priority themselves. Thanks for the reminder!
