Mary: your friend Arnold sounds like a great guy and I feel a peculiar kinship with him, though I teach homeschooled theatre students and ONLY have 6 children. Still. We have a lot in common.

Arnold: I enjoyed this post on Supertramp! I remember when Princess Diana was criticized in the press for dancing to this "teen" music, poor lady. It's got a great beat.

Mary, it amuses me how often this happens: I read your post, all the while thinking "I've never heard of this band," and then I listen to the songs and--yup!--I remember this song. It's so fun that you tell the backstory behind the songs, behind the bands. I agree with Francene: this one is a brainworm.

This is such a fun song. Now that I've listened to it, I'll be humming it all day long. Thanks for the peppy brain worm, Mary. ;)

This is pretty cool! My emotions kind of swing back and forth with this song, as the artists change---I . . . think . . . I like it!

I loved both of those songs. Plus, Mr. McCall just had a nice singing voice.

By the way, we call my mom (fondly) "The Barracuda" in part because of this song, because she is such a talent at darts!

Aww, Mary, I like you, too. Great post, as always. I love learning a bit about these artists and then listening to the music and realizing that I've heard it lots of times without knowing a thing about who performed it. This music takes me back a few years--

I used to love this song! My friends and I sang it together in high school and college. Such a catchy tune, and fun lyrics! I love Paul Simon in any form, but best with Garfunkle.

Awww, now that's one sad song, Mary! I've never understood why people get on the case of Taylor Swift, about her breakup songs. It seems that most musicians write them, after all!
