I loved Code Name Verity and The Book Thief! And I'm just starting All The Light We Cannot See. I actually don't know the other three, and now need to go check them out!

Poor Adam, I feel so bad for him in the books. He does need someone to care for him. And I love Thorne. Though I do feel too old for him. ;)

Woot to federal holidays. :) I'm so happy to have tomorrow off. Give me more time to read, because I am certainly not going to brave the outdoors anytime soon!

Ah that gif is fantastic. I loved Oregon Trail, so this book was so fun for me. And I agree about the coincidences. I wish they had been evened out or explained somehow, because it doesn't make sense. The downplaying of the powers was okay to me, because a lot of Lee's problems could have been solved if she just found more gold, ya know. I was okay with her being pushed to travel cheap instead of relying on what could have been a quick fix. This was one of my favorites from last year, and I can't wait for the series to continue.

Oh man, I would loooove that yoga class. That sounds very nice. So at my work we do these culture building exercises and one if them is around the concept of gravity, or not letting things that are out of your control bother you. I think it is so important to be able to let things go when they really don't matter, and hope you find some peace in that regard this year!

Also, that is a lot of books. My eyes are bulging out of my head. Woof.

& Happy Birthday :)

Great review! I didn't really realize the extent of the plot on this one, I just knew that it was a what if re-imagining of the events of WWII. I'm actually pretty intrigued by the shape shifting aspect. Whoa, that would complicate relationships really quick. :)

These look like such fun events! There's not really much happening in Minnesota in terms of publisher gatherings, so I love seeing what they pull together for bloggers! And Jeann's poster for Ten Thousand Skies Above You is gorgeous. I think that's one of the few cover posters I would actually put up. :)

Yes, I am looking forward to this! I started thinking about all of my favorite WWII stories, and the ones I need to catch up on (All the Light We Cannot See, I'm looking at you!)

A book that has always stuck with me that I would love to reread and talk about is Suite Francaise: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/43944.Suite_F...

It was written by a Jewish author living in Paris who was deported to Auschwitz. It's a WWII book written during WWII that was "lost" for years until it was found in a suitcase by her daughters. :(
