Wear it like a badge of honor. It means you are doing something the world and it's prince do not like. Our Master said it would be this way- that we would be spoken evil of and lied about if we followed Him & declared His ways. He says He is coming and His reward is with Him.

You were of great help and encouragement to us as we faced this same battle. Thank you.
In Christ our Lord, Robert

Ken,
I'm all for unity. But if one christian man cannot rebuke another we might as well pack it up and go home. I'm a nobody teacher calling out a giant with an arsenal at his disposal. He's a giant throwing the average christian man under the bus in front of his wife or probably even TO his wife, leaving the husband out of the equation completely. I think scripture is clear and it doesn't line up with Dobson on this. He's had his way in the christian church, from the pulpit, to the counseling sessions for a few decades- and by and large it's been a disaster for both the church and marriage. Unity is important but I think you are correct that the poster is not biblically sound.

If the poster said a wife who wants to submit to her husband will find it easier to submit to him if he is kind and gentle...then I'm all for it. If it said a husband's response should always be kind and gentle for at least the first few go arounds...then I'm all for it. Problem is, his poster and some of the comments does not account for women's sin. The question has been posed, why wouldn't a woman want to submit to a kind and gentle husband- well because she wants her way and a man that is always kind and gentle no matter what she does is easier to walk over.

God bless- Robert

Cynthia,
You know I love you Cynthia so please don't take this too hard as we value your friendship & you've been a blessing to my wife and I.

In your very message where you tell us not to blame, you do it! You could not get through a paragraph without doing it. Imagine that you had a call upon your life to lead men and teach the word of God? How do you get thru that volume of communication without doing it when you can not get thru one paragraph? How do you do that without pointing out false teaching? I will ask you this, how many times did Peter, Paul and Christ point out false teaching and teachers? Were they not preaching the gospel? I think they were! In fact there teaching is FULL of point out false teaching and calling out false teachers.

I do not see Dalrock blaming all the evils of the world on feminists. I do see him rightly diagnosing the problem he is speaking about. Do I wish he were to go beyond that? You bet. I know you know I wish that because you read my blog. Dalrock has more "talent" in his pinky than I do in my whole body...I wish he could not just diagnose the problem of feminism in the church & teach men to identify it and call it what it is but ALSO do more to encourage godly living among men. But I will not find fault for one of the handful of voices in the wilderness of modern christianity that calls a spade a spade- and he rightly has done so here.

You personally are portraying a feminist trait in your comment and that is one where we cannot call out false teachers, false teaching or hurt women's feelings- Unity and niceness at all costs. But that is not the way of Christ. It is not what we find in the Bible.

Lastly, because I know you rightfully (and how glad that makes me) want everything backed by scripture:

Romans 16:17-18
17 Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and [a]hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. 18 For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own [b]appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting

AND

1 Timothy 6:20-21
20 O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding worldly and empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called “knowledge”— 21 which some have professed and thus gone astray [a]from the faith.

AND

Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them...Ephesians 5:11

LASTLY

1 Timothy 5:20
20 Those who continue in sin, rebuke in the presence of all, so that the rest also will be fearful of sinning.

I want to say that I am sure we will share heaven with James Dobson. And I am thankful for some of the work he has done- like his work on pornography.

That said, his teaching if absolutely full of feminism. In fact there is as much feminism as there is Christianity. Both in his books and his past Focus On the Family organization. It get's praised for the work it has done in marriages, but I'll be honest and say it has done as much harm as it has good.

Here are a couple Dalrock posts on it as I don't have time or want to write a book in Lori's comment section. As always with the manosphere read caution- for those with gentle hearts please don't veer into the comment section.

That will at least get you started in understanding his teaching and also the kind of teaching he allowed in an organization he founded and ran for decades.

I understand these are not popular things to say about one of the conservative hero's of our time- but my point is that our "conservativism" has been hijacked. It has less to do with the Bible than you might think. God bless- Robert/cabinetman

Sadly, no matter how diligent you are, people will always try to pervert the word of God, and the words of those who teach the word of God. Human nature is to love darkness over light.

Lori, this should be mandatory reading. I could not agree with this gentlemen more. It was true when I was in school, how much worse has it gotten in the past two decades as our schools have decayed even further. I know the schools "got" all of my siblings and almost all of my friends that came from christian homes- including several pastor's children who sent them to public school (while the homeschooled ones still walk with the Lord). Homeschooling is so important- if there is a way you can do it, make it happen! Great post-
