As has been said here earlier, I link or read blogs for the information, then I make my decision based on the content, not on who they link to. In fact, I still read about four or five blogs on the Freethought Blog network. FSM knows I am familiar with being charged as 'guilty' by association.

Diplomacy only works if both 'sides' are willing to be diplomatic. Thus far, only one 'side' has done this. Think of diplomacy as building a bridge. A real bridge. What this entails is two construction crews, each starting on one side. If all goes well, they will meet in the middle. The problem with the 'other side' is that their idea of 'the middle' is firmly on their shoreline. As long as it remains that way, the prospect of 'peace' is lost. Period. End of story.

The fact that there is so much bullshit surrounding which fairy tale the leader of the free world believes in is disconcerting. Millions of people are out of work, the country's infrastructure is falling apart, there is still rampant discrimination amongst the LGBT community and Big Insurance, Oil and Pharma still rule the roost on Wall Street, but yet a large majority of the population seem to be more concerned with his religion.
