I was just gonna recommend YNAB. It has helped me TREMENDOUSLY -- something about compartmentalizing savings and spending goals makes so much more sense to me than just looking at my checking/savings balance and figuring out where I really stand. I can't recommend it enough. I recouped my $60 purchase in savings within, like, the first week.

Oh my gosh, this made me laugh, but in a way where I am totally sympathizing with you. Some people *light up* in the presence of puppets? I would be awkward about it too. Who the fuck lights up near a puppet, you know?
