Way to go you! I've not read anything by Lindqvist except Let The Right One In so I'd be interested to see what else he can do, I thought the tension in LTRI was really well done. :)

Woah, I read Mary Wollstonecraft's Vindication this readathon too. Totally didn't expect to see that someone else had read/loved it too today! Yay!

Wow, W&P? I love that book but I'd be way too fidgetty to attempt it for a readathon. All power to you for including it in your stack today. Happy reading!

I remember seeing this discussed on the First Tuesday Book Club, it was the first time I'd heard of Stegner, and being intrigued by the contrast of relationships and worldviews that two couple could offer to a reader. I don't read many US books but this might have to be an exception... :)

Another vote for the P&V. I am not a fan of all their translations but they click with Tolstoy and it flows much, much better than the Maude.

Interesting, this wouldn't have popped up on my radar but the Van Gogh angle sounds neat. I can recommend the Finlay book by the way, it's really absorbing and stuffed full of quirky stories, travel notes and history. :)

Hurrah for spreadsheets, it's always lovely to see how you did at the end of the year. Here's to plenty of good reading in 2013. :)

I like challenges but I'm glad that your post is one of easing off rather than quitting. It's only fun if it works after all. Here's to relaxed reading in 2013. :)

Ooh, I love chocolate and wasabi as a combo. I'm not normally a fan of white chocolate but I would definitely try that. :)

Ooh. Not sure about the love story element but castles and old secrets slowing coming forth from a writer's unsuspecting pen sounds very enticing. :)
