I think he was trying to be comforting rather than dismissive. SAD (and other forms of depression) are so often disregarded by people as legit that a friend who knows that you suffer from SAD is seen as just trying to sympathize/offer solutions when there's not a lot of other data to go on. At this point all he knows is that she's been distant and is obviously unhappy.

I think he was trying to be comforting rather than dismissive. SAD (and other forms of depression) are so often disregarded by people as legit that a friend asking if it's SAD is seen as just trying to sympathize/offer solutions when there's not a lot of other data to go on. At this point all he knows is that she's been distant and is obviously unhappy.

As for meaningful stuff, it is true that he mistook the order, but he didn't challenge her correction except for being upset that she thought he wouldn't be happy with just being her friend or was only her friend to get into her pants and when she told him no, he backed off and didn't react to anger.

From a Sean's perspective it's hard to know where you stand once the friend/friends with benefits/romantic partner things get blurred and Mar hasn't exactly been forthright about what she did and didn't want until just now and his reaction suggests that he still considers her a friend even if the romance thing is out of equation.

As for messing up the number of times he and she had "moments" together...he might be counting times that felt special to him, and while that's indicative that he might like her more romantically that she does for him but doesn't mean he feels that he's entitled to her attentions.

If he shrugs this off, remains her friend and continues to look for romance elsewhere, then I'd say that the Nice Guy trope has been overturned.

Oh gosh, so wonderful and sad at once. You're a master at conveying mood from one panel to the next.

I'm hoping that this is just a sign that this guy is the real deal. That he's not looking for some drunk hook up but actually likes her and respects her.

Poor Eve though, I just want to hug her.

I think it seemed to Eve that he was more invested because he would pester her about Jane sometimes.

Also, there is asshole precedence within Jacob's over all story.

Well, I think the "What about My feelings" bit was sarcasm over the fact that she didn't get to crush his dreams after all and that he's only invested as far as the next hook-up.

In her head she thought he was actually pursuing Jane and that she'd get to witness a big let down. Instead he was typically callous and already interested in trying to chat up some other girl.

So, she's just expressing disappointment in a hyperbolic fashion, like ya do.

Yes. This is exactly how I feel when someone suggests "Making Love". ESCAPE! ESCAPE!
