Beautiful exam time, Nelleke! Both you and he did so well that it makes me a bit weepy! Thanks for sharing.

Yes, just getting started and keeping on going, day after day after day after day.... That's all it takes, and sometimes it's a lot, but it is what God asks of us. May God bless you and your busy family.

Enjoy the journey!

I hope your week is going better! You are so right that it helps to get out and do something.

This sounds like a helpful resource, Nelleke. And once in those long gone days I talked to you on the phone! Your former boss is a godly woman and still a great encouragement to homeschoolers.

Looks good, Nelleke! And I want to add one thing that Heidi probably mentioned: learn how to love each of your kids in ways that they experience as love. That is one of the biggest things you can do for them, your family, a smooth life, and your homeschool.

Thank you for mentioning Tim's Vermeer. Now I want to watch it too. I don't know how Vermeer painted, but most painters would do quick sketches to capture fleeting moments, often in paints. Perhaps he did this. I just checked out Wheelock's book, Vermeer, but it did not show any sketches. By the way, if you love Vermeer, it's worth getting this book via interlibrary loan.

Honey for a Child's Heart is wonderful. Enjoy!

Yes, not obviously noticing things is sometimes important...but it is so hard not to record them in some way!

Happy anniversary, dear Nelleke! Yes, marriages can be happy, and it's good to read how happy yours is. We celebrated 25 years last spring, and I am so thankful for my husband!

I think you are completely correct by choosing those two texts for a discussion of marriage; that is really the basis of it all, and that came out in each of the 9 marriage books I recommended recently.

May God bless you and your husband and your little boys. Enjoy each good day He gives you!
