We haven't had a resident pastor for the last 4 years. Being reformed in tradition we have been nourished by visiting pastors from sister Grace Affiliate churches and held together by a graciously loving set of elders who consist of a retired pastor and doctrinally sound men. The love for the word has not whithered though our earnest prayer is that God would give us a resident pastor. It is true that todays's average "Christian will" pander for the motorcycle sermon series or pizza party sermon and rigorous biblical studies are not a virtue extolled in most circles. **Ahem pentecostal and Charismatic** But thank God there is a remnant who still believe in going back to the sources- back to studying the word and loving it and obeying it. Okay to be honest i was angry at first because at that time I was a devout believer in 'a new move of the spirit'. I believed at that time the wackiness and falling down and mystic manifestations were authentications from God. John Macarthur's 1983 audio sermon titled 'Charismatic chaos' also helped me in my transition from fringe Pentecostalism.
