dear stephanie ~ i am so glad we met through blogging!! you can be sure i will be checking out your plasticine people stories - your creations are genius! to be honest with you, i am not surprised at all that you are taking this blogging break...i've sensed that your energy is being pulled into other areas, and that is ok and cool! best wishes with your novel writing. i give you credit for realizing that blogging is not a top priority right now, and being willing to follow your vibes. xoxo!

happy weekend, stephanie! fridays are going to become special again - haha! i really think this p/t teaching gig is aces for you. like you say, it's a BALANCE of structure and free time. i bet you'll get more writing done with less time available to you. i LOVE schedules and structure - as long as it's of my own design. i schedule my free time/flexible time as oxymoronic as that sounds. i love my work schedule because it's always changing. so to answer your question: to do lists keep me on task, and for me, i just like the feeling of getting stuff done! congrats on getting down the xmas stuff and hope the rewiring was a success!

this comment is going to be a mishmash of unrelated sentences - apologies in advance!! safe travels home, stephanie. i hope it's not too too long til you can get back to ontario again (both so you can see your family and also so that we can potentially meet up?!?!). this font size is just fine! the movie "my week with marilyn" has been playing at the indy cinema for a couple weeks but i didn't make it there to see it...i'd love to learn more about this icon! "circle time" - haha! thanks for the memory poke. my grade 11 english teacher used to have us all sit in a circle quite often for sharing, book discussion etc. we used to laugh at how hokey it was! i love that graphic of tv - eat - sleep = sad. i would agree. outdoor skating - so cool. glad to hear of kids still getting fitness and fun outside!!!

thanks for the book review, stephanie! i appreciate your viewpoint. i also am glad to hear of a book that doesn't preach that skinny is where it's at for everyone. i totally agree with the "set point" theory (natural weight) - trusting our intuition and our bodies to get us there is the tricky part. good luck with expanding your reading horizons this year! i look forward to more book reviews!

great topic, stephanie! i enjoyed reading your memories as well as your more recent skating adventures. thanks for bringing back my own happy memories! my dad taught me to skate at the local arena when i was about two. and i have fond memories of school outings to the rink. i love your mental image of "don't slit the jugular!" - so true! skating is a series of mishaps waiting to happen! i am glad you have rediscovered skating both at home and in TO. it's a great family activity - and hot choc after is a must!

yea, talk about an easy blog post, eh?! long live the photo dump! but the funny thing is that this cliche also makes for interesting reading...well, i find it interesting! free nutella? score! that is something to be joyful about! well, even though the movie was bad, it's still fun to get out with a gf - and then you can bash the movie together, and laugh over the badness! i like the photo of your skates/the rink. a little artsy! your presents are pretty - and the gift tags are super cute! can't wait to see which cliche post you'll tackle next!

oh, stephanie, you tell a good story! thanks for the warning that it's a sad story - but you made it very suspenseful! you get A+ for effort in trying to be kind to poor mousey. let's just blame chase the wonderdog - if he had done his job and chased the mouse outta the house and into a field, the story would have had a happier (if more boring) ending. love your mousetrap reproduction and the artistic license comment - thanks for a fun tuesday story!
ooo, thanks for sharing your christmas stocking memories! i love reading about other people's family traditions. and i agree: stockings were very exciting. we'd go down and get ours and carry them up to my parents' room and open them, first thing xmas morning (ok, we had to wait til mom got her coffee). true confession: my mom STILL does christmas stockings for us all!! you did a great job with jp's stocking of manly items. they all look very masculine to me. and thumbs up for more or less sticking to your budget. sending you a hug because it will be weird for you not to be home for christmas morning. i hope you and jp can plan ahead and have a fun christmas day lined up. loved your "stop reading" shout to jp!! haha!

congrats on your victory over the laundry monster! too bad it's not a once n done accomplishment. man, jp is lucking out with his locations, of late! glad to hear he is home, and that your snow is gone. it's too early to be stuck with the white stuff til spring. we are snow-free (knock on wood) so far, too. WAY TO GO on the couch to 5k. you sound very determined, so i bet you are going to succeed with your goal. keep having movies lined up to divert your attention and add some interest to the ol' treadmill?? i always associate clementines with christmas and childhood!

http://www.love-life-project.com/ : Five Things I Love About December (AKA Christmas)

ah!! i love the movie talk! ok, ONE of the ones you list, is the one i watched last eve (review on my blog on wednesday). "...not the travesty with Jim Carrey" -> BINGO!!! love the cartoon, refuse to even watch the jc version. YES die hard is a christmas movie. YES i miss cable/having a tv solely for christmas specials. i have decided to blog excessively about christmas because IT'S MY BLOG, right?! as you know, i love the sarah mclachlan and bnl, too. ok, basically i am nodding with 90% of what you say, today. eggnog, blinking lights, santa claus is coming to town - same. but i like tinsel and christmas cards! so yea, december is basically a month of christmas - and that's what i like! (i've actually realized, over the years that i like the christmas PREP better than dec 25th. true confession).
