Reading the South Korean court's statement about Yoon's attempted coup, I thought of how (with a few tweaks) this could apply to Trump, had he been held legally accountable. From The Guardian: In sentencing Yoon on Thursday, the court pointed to his lack of apology throughout the proceedings, his unjustified refusal to attend hearings, and the massive social costs his actions inflicted on South Korean society. The court said the martial law greatly damaged the political neutrality of the military and police and caused South Korea’s political standing and credibility in the international community to decline, leaving society “politically divided and experiencing extreme confrontation”. The court opted for life imprisonment over the death penalty, noting that while the crime was grave, Yoon’s planning did not appear meticulous, he had attempted to limit the use of physical force, and most of his plans ultimately failed.

This from Roger Sollenberger's Substack. I have no idea the credibility of this post or of any of his work, but a quick Google search turns up that previously he was a senior political reporter for The Daily Beast, and before that a reporter for Salon. DOJ Removed Record of Multiple FBI Interviews with Underage Trump Accuser, Epstein Data Shows The FBI spoke at least four times with a woman who credibly accused Trump of sexually assaulting her when she was a minor, Epstein files show. That document is no longer accessible on the DOJ website.

Wanted to note; while retreating in Minnesota, ICE has been surging in PA. It’s not a flashing headline because they aren’t doing the boots on the ground stuff inside Philadelphia proper. It’s the suburbs and smaller areas. Targeted and lively effort, purposely detaining people where they’ll be caught by surprise. It’s the darkest shit imaginable. So insidious.
