The evangelicals love the idea of spreading despair and dissuading people from voting. That way a minority can inflict their Christian based agenda on not just America but the entire world. The bright side? Trump's rallies bring them together and expose them to Covid-19 and there's is a chance there will be many fewer of them come November.

Don't vote? Really?? On this principle, you would have exactly the same influence as a slave or someone too stupid to find his way to a polling booth. If the choices are so incredibly bad, either join a political party or form your own. As a last resort, emigrate to somewhere more congenial. Being prepared to do nothing, then complain about a result you made no effort to influence, is pretty sordid. Refusing to participate in the one process that gives you a say (however small) in those who are to govern you is an abdication of democratic responsibility.

Just how can a brainwashed, complacent public reassess anything? That requires a standard of comparison, which doesn't exist. Trump's "wall" was built long ago - in the minds of US citizens. They don't travel. Their media are all xenophobic and denigrating. Their only comparisons "prove" they are the best. They are doomed, but so are their masters, a small consolation.

Nice to see "perception management" given more 'air time'. My introduction to the concept & Edward Bernays' pivotal role came from a documentary series by Adam Curtis entitled "Century of the Self", a series of 4, hour long episodes. It blew my mind at the time as it put together so many pieces of the puzzle that deconstruct the contrived narrative that we are fed. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking answers & ideas with regards to this ludicrous & illusory state of affairs that we call the World we live in. Adam Curtis has made a load of brilliant documentaries (for the BBC no less!?!) over several decades, illuminating the British establishment's nefarious behaviour at home and abroad, it's post (?) Imperialistic policies and objectives & the shadowy groups and individuals involved. As a Brit, coming of age in the 80s & 90s in a community of folk actively committed to social justice for all, I only heard of Adam Curtis & his work in the last 10 or 20 years. Huge treasure trove of Truth seemingly created under the radar. Everything from the diplomatic and military skullduggery that sought the continued subjugation of the Arab nations to the neo liberal robbery of the British commons. As you can tell, I cannot recommend his work highly enough. Enjoy!

This author wants to take away voting. Maybe the last and only legal remedy for a sick democracy. Reminds one of Boogaloo. Oh, OK Quit VOTING, and do what the rich, white ownership society tells you to do. No one voted in the USSR. or under Somoza, Franco, or even Marcos. Many more: all monarchies. so we're dealing with a monarchist here. better than quitting--also called surrender--would be revise voting procedures and go to meetings and cry out and demonstrate and break glass....wanna tea party? Not being able to vote or having your vote switched should be a capital offense. we got to get up and dump their friggin tea in the ocean. ANd this Slavo guy with 'em. no i don't like the candidates. mine are all gone. but we won in every nation from Iceland to Finland. We lost wherever the big banks rule: UK, France, and Germany with Deutsches bank buying and evicting in AMerican real estate. OMG....but we cant vote. We won back Argentina. THEY voted. We got permanent wars going on..but we can't vote. women cannot control their own bodies but they can't vote either. we resist by taking more mierda if we can't vote. that is not resistance. that is sheeple. So let's talk about the future here: we need to improve, secure and make voting easier. WE need to wipe out some agencies that obstruct liberty and aid corruption. We need 6 more Supremes if we witn both houses and the WH. make it 15. We need to kill the CIA, DEA, ICE, da FED, by defunding them all. we need to put the breaks on the DOD, by 20% this next year and 10% ever after until gone. nobody needs to even aim any of this devastation. any major nuclear nation can pretty much end humanity by simply firing their missiles straight up. or blast anywhere in North AMerica. or Asia....they measure silicon falling from the Gobi...in Seattle. we need to abolish the IRS dump income taxes, and tax ASSETS. We need to collect back taxes from all the corpos that did not by by deferring...the deference is over. ETC. etc. etc. and we need to think for tomorrow as if it was actually gonna get here.

"The people" of the U.S. can't control the government because they have such diverse needs and interests depending on the conditions of their birth. In countries where most people are born under similar conditions of birth, a government can serve the majority as it does in the Scandinavian countries and could in Central and South America if the U.S. would butt out. The greater the wealth gap and the greater the gap in birth privilege, the more a government is apt to serve only the interests of the most privileged class.

Yes propaganda is a tool but the basic tool, the foundation of control and manipulation is fear. People have been made to fear reprisal by the state, "legalized" coercion, pressure and fear of violence in conjunction with propaganda keeps the system humming along nicely. Until a few decide to stand up straighten their backs and resist; people like: Geronimo who fought to preserve his native lands and culture, Henry David Thoreau who refused to pay his poll tax, Rosa Parks who refused to go to the back of the bus or Muhammad Ali who refused to be inducted into the US military on moral and religious grounds, the status quo will always win. For every action there is a consequence so when we stand against injustice, war and other acts of evil there will be consequences, we have to have the courage of our convictions when we stand for right.

Even before Bernays, a pioneer in the field of mass psychology Dr. Gustave le Bon, published a seminal study on the subject in 1895, called "The Crowd" A Study of the Popular Mind". Such techniques were of great use to the US regime since early on in its development, and later to Dr. Goebbels in Nazi Germany. Non other than CIA director William Casey had this to say on the subject in 1981: "We'll know that our disinformation program is complete, when everything the American public believes is false". Therefore, young and old must start accepting that fact, and reassess US history and everything else under a new light, not an easy task but indispensable.
