I became friendly with Duo after her illness started and the beginning of my husband’s ongoing neurological problems. We would trade stories, support each other and tell dumb jokes. I knew things were serious but not the extent they actually were. The fact she supported me during her troubles is a gift I do not take for granted. Xoxo Duo. One of a kind

Thank you both for putting this together. It was an honor to have known her. After I met her and described my business, she thought that a former colleague of hers who had also gone out into business for herself may be a good connection. The next day she promptly connected the two of us. I was amazed at the kindness and generosity. I was feeling the need to properly remember her last week, so Peanut and I met up in the city and toasted her memory. Here's to Duo. <img src="https://i.imgur.com/qTf7KyU.jpg">

Duo was very supportive after my shooting. As I climbed up out of my pit of despair, it meant so much to have this space with Duo and the rest of you all to help me as I found my way.

This is a lovely tribute. I never met her, but I was always intrigued by her stories. Sounds like she had a full life. I have to admit, I got a kick how she could really throw it down with some people. Feisty! Gone too soon.

This is wonderful. I didn't know she had been a journalist. I would love to hear other stories about her. I have a question and I may be mixing Duo up with another Crasser, but did she and her ex-husband reconcile after being divorced? I think the story was that they were great friends after the divorce and recently discovered they both wanted to be together again. It was such a lovely story and it genuinely made me happy for her.

It was lovely reading through Duo's old comments to work on this post. Brought back some wonderful memories of the community and her contributions were always thoughtful, sweet, and supportive. I tried to pick comments that spoke to who she was and what she felt passionate about. She really felt very passionately about political issues and particularly women's rights and spoke about it very openly. I felt like that was important to her and her memory and wanted to include it although a piece of me is worried it might be inappropriate to share a comment where she spoke about such a personal matter in a memorial post. Let me know if you guys think I should edit it.

This is very special. Thanks to the authors. She seemed to know so much about living a full life - in New York and the Village, as a lover of the arts, in the world at large - and I'm grateful she shared that here. I regret that I missed out getting to hear her tales of New York and downtown through the ages in person. IIRC p_mouse was one of our New York Crassers and much the same.
