Apparently too many Americans today have grown soft and are in much need of safe spaces. Too bad they didn't measure stress levels during Lincoln's War of Northern Aggression, when over 600,000 Americans were killed and the country was split in two. Or how about during the two World Wars when millions worldwide, which included millions of civilians, were killed. Or how about the 1960's with three major assassinations and a war in Vietnam which killed over 50,000 Americans and millions of Southeast Asians. I have an easy solution to those whose stress levels are too high. Just get off the couch, close your laptop, turn off the TV, (especially those 24/7 news channels that are full of lies), and go outside and get some much needed exercise. You'll immediately feel better.

There will be a massive DUH! moment when the people of the US finally realize that ty live in a police state that terrorism was mostly created and fed in order to create/justify that police state in combination with the war on drugs and that the police state and all the laws presumably created to fight terrorism are used to suppress any attempt to change the system so to improve their standard of living.

There is every reason to be distressed. Our government is corrupt, the corporations are in charge, the weather patterns are getting more devastating, we live in about the only place that doesn't acknowledge climate change, there are hate groups coming out of the woodwork, the income inequality is affecting most of the nation, the stock market just keeps on soaring but doesn't really affect most people, the student loan debt is overwhelming a whole generation, the infrastructure is crumbling and we are living under the possible threat of a nuclear war, seniors and low income people have the worry of losing social security and other programs that allow them to live with some semblance of dignity and nearly everyone is wondering if they will have health care they can afford. America is becoming less great day by day. Hope is very slim and when all of the above is wrapped up in a bundle it becomes a very heavy load to carry around. The stress is heightened when voting is the only option available and even that is being dealt blows with voter suppression. There may have been a time when life was less stressful but certainly not in the lifetimes of those living today.

Hmmmm, what an Ideal situation to wage a war under. Folks are depressed and hungry, an ideal time for them to be CONSCRIPTED to throw away their lives in exchange for a full belly, free medical care and a roof over their heads. Sound familiar ? It should, because that was precisely the situation prior to the U.S.'s involvement in WW 2. When the population of "useless eaters" has been culled sufficiently, and the war is still raging, they'll do the same thing as last time, drag out the nukes in their desperation. BUT, this time round, the other side too has nukes of it's own, so the end is not as predictable as it was last time.

Of course stress levels are high. When people can't sleep nights worrying about how to pay rent, buy food etc. never mind any luxuries, then people's health will suffer. It must be hard for Americans who have never really had it this bad. Those that did have mostly died out so cannot tell their tales of poverty and war. Capitalism and imperialism in crisis.
