Dont go to church that ask people to give money. Thats a sign of a wolf. I was once a spiritual christian but because of things happening in my life i stop going to church and found freedom. I still believe in God but i dont go to church anymore. Im tired of all the false preachers and how they try to brainwash innocent people.

generalizing does not make you right. Our church is a group of people, the leader, humble. we never have taken an offering and don't care how your dressed. we are all indoctrinated as we are brought up, the real blessing is to find the truth. Only a fool says there is no God... but thats ok, we can all learn and grow up. Yes Cults are dangerous and exist, and yes, as a christian by choice I know Satan will look and sound really good... Did the writer read the Bible to write about the church and it’s practices. I guess , to be a doctor one needs to study the subjects and understand the equipment and it’s relevances. In this scenario, clearly, I can see , an opinion without any knowledge. Rather getting oneself educated on the subject matter and then writing thesis on it will make more sense right ???

I will admit that unfortunately there are too many unscrupulous pastors out there.
Believe me I know this from personal experience. It definetly made me a bit cynical. However, there is no getting around the fact that Jesus is real, He did give His life a ransom for us so that we could be saved...reconciled to God and no shady deceitful pastor can change that.

I have realized quite some time ago that church tenets contain contradiction or impossible concepts and I suspect that may be on purpose. People don't understand these and then ask the priest who can then make you feel inferior and he has the answer.

With a little bit of introspection, you will realise that you have been indoctrinated and manipulated. You base your entire life on a lie. The bible is a book of mythology and contains very little (if any) truth. Your pastor or church leader just wants your money and really doesn't give a hoot for your existence - he/she will preach at your funeral one day and regret that more money wasn't extracted from you before you died. And if you leave money in your will to the church instead of your children, then you are totally deluded.

Being reared as a catholic we were encouraged to give to the poor Pacific Islanders. We were told they had very little and needed our help to buy books and medicine. Imagine my surprise when living on one of these islands the church collected money from them to give to the poor in India. The books and medicine were needed. These happy people had little by our standards and much of the help they received was from overseas aid. I saw no evidence of church assistance other than the building of churches and schools. I'll admit the schools were needed and educated the young. That's a great place to indoctrinate the next generation. I'm guessing they taught creationism.

The ornateness of churches, the artwork, the stained glass window scenes, the massive crucifixion model dominating the interior etc.etc. was indeed intended to impress the mostly illiterate congregations, instill reverence into them when they entered the church and had their church's one copy of the Bible read to them, and to cast any doubt from their minds that god wasn't real or not watching their every move. You should not have been so quick to dismiss what you you were told - you learn more that way.
