Beliefs and facts are important. When the line between them is blurred, problems arise. Facts require evidence and a process to establish them. Beliefs often fill the void when facts are absent but this does not have to be the case. We don't have facts about what, if anything, happens after we die. Beliefs fill this void. But many are okay with saying 'we don't know' and leaving it right there. Pretending that beliefs are facts can be damaging the the individual and society, when done on a large scale.

Every one is entitled to believe what they want to believe. If that is truth to you so be it! Everyone believes different and we should respect others beliefs what ever they are!!!! I am a Christian and I choose my beliefs and you may not be. Its okay you be you and let me be me!! Lets work together and better our planet that is what we should do. Lets not discuss our differences but lets come together on what really matters in our society, there are so many needs like, hunger, human trafficking, child abuse, creating a new world where our children can live and have rights to choose what religion they want and a have a safe world that is most important!

#1 is spot on. My abandonment of religious dogma was a slow process but final when I decided to READ. I continue to be amazed when I am told the Bible was 'written' by god, and in the literal sense of the word. When people dare not question any part of a group dogma, no matter the group, they forfeit the advantages of the evolution of frontal lobes. And these groups are particularly dangerous.

This article was clearly written to mock true Christianity. Example: from where did the 0.01 % of prayers being answered come? The author has a highly limited understanding of God's Word. Let's examine each statement. #10 An editorial comment rather than fact and stereotypic in nature; #9 The authors conclusion is unrelated to the leading statement, which once again is stereotypic. Who says we are insulted? The author? #8 The statement is laughable...God, the One true God, is not a polytheistic entity. You said it yourself...singular...Triune GOD...SINGULAR...get it? How I wish we could force theists to actually read the above and, at least for a few minutes really examine the points made. Sigh. Too bad it will never happen. All religions are false doctrines and their main goal is to keep the population in check. Basically, all religions are the same with some local variations. For the majority of people, religion was forced upon them at birth and taught to them at a very young age. So religion really is a belief system that was indoctrinated into us. It is not a coincidence that countries that have the poorest populations also have the harshest religions.

The .01% success rate is... well, I have no idea where that number comes from? It is not just the "BIG" prayers that count. Everyday that my kids leave home I pray that they will come home safely. I pray that they will be good contributors to society. I pray that my wife and I will have a healthy marriage. I pray that I will find my wallet when I misplace it. Trivial? Yes. But, 99.99% of my prayers get answered. Now, I know, you say that doesn't count. Because the atheist wants those things too and their "prayers" get answered too. That might be a fair rebuttal for a different argument, however I am not trying to convince anyone of 'that' argument. Saying that prayer has a .01% success rate is false. From a statistical point of view of actual prayers that are prayed and answered it is clearly higher. We just don't seem to record the answered prayers on the small stuff. I think the rest of that top 10 is at least interesting. Keep that list to those things though. There's nothing wrong with a top 9 reasons.

I am a First Christian and everybody has a Personal Relationship with GOD! It is not mine to judge and NO ONE IS PERFECT and especially me. We are all GOD'S CHILDERN, no matter what you are. The Doctrine of Separation of Church and State is found in the 1st clause of the 1st Amendment of the " "Bill of Rights" of the US Constitution, adopted December 15, 1791. I do not want or will support the government dictating how I believe and I will not support any Church dictating what the government should do the goals of GOD and Our form of government stand for the same reasons; "The People". The People of GOD and The People of the United States of America. That is a unique experience and only GOD knows the appointed Time and Date when Jesus Christ returns. So, own up to that biblical fact and take care of the "Average American Citizens" and GOD will take care of the rest. Keep the Church and State separate and when GOD is ready, GOD has no need for Our churches nor Our governments, for GOD already has a Church and Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, under GOD!
