As a gay man, I often feel forced to worship her, and I definitely went through the phase, but as the years go by I find I cannot love, or even like, her very much, even if I do like a lot of her music and admire her marketing genius. She's really just an over-yogaed carapace of grim ambition, determined never to be anything less than a megastar. And the emphasis is on "grim"; even looking back, I don't think she's ever really been "fun" as such. I see so little joy in her, just calculation. Oh, and BTW, who CARES if Lady Gaga is "copying" her? For one thing, Madonna has never exactly been a musical or cultural innovator herself. For another, OF COURSE Gaga echoes her! Madonna was the biggest female star of the late twentieth century! It would be ridiculous if her influence wasn't all over the female stars of this era. It's a tribute to her impact, but she acts like her copyright was infringed. She doesn't have a patent or anything.

Really, it was that "who... whom" thing she did that gave me fits. Madonna, I don't think the Queen will throw you into the Tower for a minor grammatical error. Also, as someone on my Twitter feed said, "Bitch, you're from 8 mile! Stop talking like the goddamn Dowager Empress of Russia!"

I don't care about their bitchfest, I will always love them both for what they have contributed to music. What Madonna has done within the film industry is unforgivable, and her adopted accent is full-on twatness but she is my Cougar hero. And both songs were dreadful. The Globes are the "Most Likely To Be Bought" awards, as proven by Harvey Weinstein's "song" winning.

All these awards are ridiculously political and feed the worst of Hollywood's narcissism, and films about British history are always popular with voting bodies. Plus, Gnomeo and Juliet sucked, (this from someone who enjoys animated movies) and they probably fell asleep in the screening. I'm just glad that the sole award The Help won was for the performance by Octavia Spencer.

Ugh, I have never been a Madonna fan (sorry fellow gays, I just don't get why so many of you are obsessed with her...her music sucks, and she's a cunt), and she really was an asshole at the Golden Globes. The best was her stupid, needs-more-work, not-at-all-funny retort to Ricky Gervais when he introduced her so she could announce the Best Foreign Language Film. Then Colin Firth came out a bit later and showed the proper way to stick it to Ricky Gervais.
