Hopefully this hasn't already been pointed out, but Austin was not eliminated early in his season! He was the last one eliminated before the finale...in part because Nancy O'Dell picked craycray Wendy Pepper's dress for the Grammies. PS: Sorry if that's way nitpicky but I've been lurking forever and couldn't resist chiming in! Hi everyone! :)

I'm so excited! Are we liveblogging this as well? I can't wait to see what Mondo makes. I love his designs, I tried to buy a dress off his website but they were all sold out, which I hope means he's doing well for himself.

I do vaguely remember becoming frustrated with Costello's incessant weeping and "errybody hates meee!" attitude as the season went on, but all in all, I still liked him more than some others from that season. I still haven't recovered from my excitement about Sharon Needles, but once I do I'll start piecing together a 'meet the queens' post of some type. God I can't fucking wait. It doesn't premiere til the end of the month, and that is killing me.

Austin Scarlett has major upper hand. He had that reality show with what's-his-name, so he's very used to the cameras. And he's been doing bridal and gowns, plus theater/ballet costumes so he has a very big range of work. Unless something goes terribly wrong for him, I see Austin and Mondo battling it out for the win. Oh, and Kara Janx? Her wrap dresses are truly fantastic. But a line of wrap dresses does not a Project Runway winner make.

I see what you're both saying and agree with both of you about Michael. He was a bit of a martyr, but I did like his designs. RAMI!! OMG, I need to find the picture of us when he came into Bloomie's where I used to work. Fine. Ass. Brov. AND he can design, I adore him. Mondo was robbed, I bet he'll win this first season as a redemption for the viewers (and Tim Gunn). Kenley the cat trower - HA! I always liked her designs but felt they were a bit one-note. It will be interesting to see how all the designers' skills and tastes have evolved over the years. Looking forward to the recaps as always!

I wrote this to put a stake in the ground, so people know I'm going to be recapping this Project Runway, just like I did the previous season. I am hopeful (as per the discussion in today's open thread) people will "respect mah authoritah" and not write rogue Project Runway posts, as did happen last season. I kept my shit ladylike back then and didn't say anything, but I was certainly miffed about it. Oh well, in that grander scheme of things it really doesn't matter, does it? I was never a fan of Michael. I think he unconsciously played into that "I'm a victim" thing from the beginning, and by the time he consciously realized what he had done, his weeping and wailing and garment rending was long and loud. It was enough, already. This time around, he needs to stand up and be strong and "fearssss," as our little Smeagol might have once said. Can't wait to read your recaps of Drag Race -- and yes, you should do a "meet the queens" post later this month, before the first episode! There's a lot of material there. Let's start with "Miss Jiggeldypoof FirstToLeave." No, I did not stick it out for Project Accessory. That show was 10 kinds of horror. I watched the pilot and that was the end of it. I can't imagine how that show ever got greenlighted, and why it made it on the air is beyond me.

Nice post, gworl. I'm essited. I was a fan of Michael Costello (and possibly had a little crush on him for a second) because like you said, despite getting a lot of shit from fellow designers about his looks, the judges almost always liked his stuff, and I dunno, I just liked him (and especially loved when he and Mondo had to work together and bonded after Mondo realized he was being mean to Michael for no reason). Also, Rami! Swooooooooooon! I guess I should probably do a post like this for Drag Race when we get closer to that premiere, huh? Follow the good example you have set for last season of PR and now All Stars. Semi-unrelated: did you (or anyone) watch Project Accessory to the end? What a mess. I can't believe whatshisname won, and I can't believe whatshisname was straight (or at least married with a child). Well, I still don't believe it even if he his married with a child. Also, Diego was such a bitter d-bag. Grow a chin, mary.
