Nobody here is saying to dive into a crowd of 30 people alone, but sometimes officers have to react when the odds are against them (which is most of the time since officers are in the role of having to react instead of instigate). Officers are trained to deal with crowds of people and there are ways of dealing with that instead of standing by your car. If a crowd wants to turn on you they will do it regardless of if you are playing Mr. DJ on your loud speaker or not. Why should I or we care about the life of one who really didn't care about the lives of 3 in this case, 4 if we count the officer doing his job and respecting the oath he took to protect the public at large. The times of holding criminals hands in this country needs to come to an abrupt end. Why are our violent crime rates so out of control? Because people know that unless they are multiple repeat offenders they will see more jail time awaiting trial than they will in the end of the case. Wake up and smell the coffee people, let justice be swift and harsh and you will see the streets of this country clean up pretty darn quick.
