There is no reason for another cop on the streets of Douglas and Saugatuck.. In fact they should reduce them and contract with the county.. 80% of the budget is for police services which works out to about $1,500 per call..... just stupid and such a waste of money here... All city services are duplicated with the two cities wanting their own kingdoms.... Douglas and Saugatuck pay some of the highest taxes in West Michigan...

The Douglas City Manager David Kowal incompetent in the way this case was handled. It is time for the citizens of Douglas call for his job. He resigned two weeks ago but ook back his resignation. He has little support form the citizens.

What happens to the female officer that was moved from part time to full time when they fired the officer? I can tell you she will go back to part time again... so what is the City Mangers solution?? They applied for a grant to hire another full time officer but what they have not told anyone is that after the grant runs out the tax payers will have to flip the bill for an additional officer that is not needed...

One more blunder in a long list of blunders bythe CITY MANAGER DAVID KOWAL.... FIRE HIM... HE IS AT WILL......
